Abstract

A back-supporting seat having slatted seat and back portions (10, 12), the ends of the slats (14) being held in pockets (20) formed in folded strips (16) of flexible material. Excepting the end slats, which may be glued in the pockets, the pockets are made of sufficient depth to accommodate relative longitudinal movements of the slats, thereby enabling the seat better to conform to the contour of the body of the user. <IMAGE>
