Abstract
A support for electronic drums or percussion instruments comprises a shoulder strap I, a double clamp A for attaching to the instrument via its hold means H, a tubular pole N attached to the double clamp and further supporting one or two hand operated pedals E which are attached by straps D1, D2 and foam rubber grips C to prevent siding along the pole, and a battery case B containing two 9 volt batteries. The musician can beat electronic drums mounted on the clamp with one hand whilst playing the operated pedal, to which a kick drum sound may be assigned. <IMAGE>
Description
Balric wise support handle for playing electronic drums and percussion
This invention relates to electronic drums and percussion instruments provided with connection for pedal, beatable pads or buttons and hold means.
Electronic drums and percussion devices with beatable pads or buttons, are usually played mounted on a stand and beated on with sticks the first and with fingers the second kind; They are powered by electricity through an adaptor and are connected with a cable to the sound sistem so that no freedom of movement is allowed to the musician, the drummer intact is forced to the site where the device has been placed, just as if he/she were playing an acustic drum set.
According to the present invention there is provided a tubular support handle (length - 0.70m, diameter-25mm), chrome plated, when made out of metal,(letter @tN@$ "N" of accompanying drawing), comprising: 1) One or more hand-operated pedals,(letter E of accompanying drawing),held attached to the handle by two plastic straps(letter "D" of accompanying drawing), buttoned up together(letter"D/2" of accompanying drawing), and resting on a foan rubber grip(letter "C" of accompanying drawing), for arresting the sliding movement of the pedal itself while it is being gripped and sqeezed to get the sound,to it assigned by the electronic device, out; 2) 9V alcaline battery, plus one spare, with electric power cable connected to it, wherein the two batteries are placed in a small case belted around the handle, (letter "B" of accompanying drawing); 3) One or two adjustable extensions are provided for more controls to be mounted on the suuport handle, (letter "L" of accompanying drawing, showing two butterfly screw bolts to block extensions); 4) Shoulder belt for playing the instrument baldric wise, in a guitar fashion,(letter "I" of accompanying drawing).
5) Adjustable double clamp, (letter"A" of accompanying drawing), which joins the tubular handle to the hold means of the electronic instrument.
In order to play the electronic instrument using the baldric wise support handle, one hand, either left or right, must grip the pedal placed on the support handle, sqeezing it, while the other hand, holding a stick, beats on the instrument wherein pads are provided; otherwise the instrument is played with fingers wherein it is provided with buttons.
Claims (5)
1) A baldric-wise support handle for playing electronic drums and percussion consisting of a tubular metal pole, chrome plated with one or two extensions sliding inside the tubular handle, blocked by a screw bolt, comprising one or more hand operated pedals held attached to the handle by two plastic straps buttoned up together and resting on a form rubber grip, in order to arrest the sliding movement of the pedal itself; an adjustable double clamp with which the support handle is joined to the hold means of the electronic instrument; a 9v battery plus one spare, with electric power cable connected to it and placed in a little case belted around the support handle; a shoulder belt in order to play the electronic instrument baldric-wise, in a guitart fashion and with no cables connected not to allow freedom of movement.
2) A baldric-wise support handle for playing electronic drums and percussion as claimed in claim 1) wherein a hand operated pedal is provided to which a kick drum sound can be assigned in order to create coplicated kick drum rhithms otherwise very difficult to obtain using a foot-operated pedal for acustic drums or electronic drums.
3) A baldric wise support handle for playing electronic drums and percussion as claimed in claim 1) wherein a 9v battery is provided with electric cable connected with push button clips.
4) A baldric wise support handle for playing electronic drums and percussion as claimed in claim 1) and claim 3), wherein a 9v battery is provided in order to gain freedom of movement considering that greater freedom of movement can be gained when using a transmitter, in which case the instrument will be cable-free.
5) A baldric wise support handle for playing electronic drums and percussion,as claimed in claim 1), wherein a shoulder belt is provided in order to hold the instrument baldric wise, in a guitar fashion.
