Abstract

A process for custom-forming and applying a tooth-veneer to a tooth comprising shaping and sealing a natural tooth, making a replica of the tooth and forming a tooth veneer on the replica. The shaped tooth veneer is then attached to the natural tooth with a binder. The process can also be applied to a denture-retainer or to a tooth-facing. The tooth-veneer can be clear or coloured to match the tooth and the veneer may be made of a ceramic or plastic material.

Description

" A Tooth-Veneer Process" This invention relates to improvements in the process for an esthetic-functional custom Tooth-Veneer(s) applicable to Tooth Rehabilitation, This Tooth-Veneer(s) is a thin 0.5-1 millimeter thick structure substantially of a tooth coloured esthetic material. It is capable of being conformed in interlock onto a portion of one or several natural reduced tooth surfaces in need. The Veneer(s) can be customformed according to any shape and reliably secured to a tooth(teeth) in need.. Its design-form functions either as an .esthetic retainer(s),united in fixable denture partial structure,or substantially functions as an esthetic tooth coloured iacing(s),which can be extended to any desirable size andform, over the front face of the tooth(teeth) in need.
It has been found in dental practice,by utilising a pulling test device ,replacing the natural jaw force, that such Veneer structure(s),currently used by dentists, have a limited appli cation to the full extent of . Tooth Rehabilitation.
Limitation of the current material is caused by the fragile nature and unreliable hold of the Veneer during the insertion or universal application in the mouth.Thereby the current process demands costly equipment, high level of skill and experience.
It is the main object of the present invention to provide a Tooth-Veneer Process which is able to be reliably used to the ftill extent of Tooth Rehabilitation and avoids the use of costly equipment.
An other object of this process is to provide a flexibilized fracture-proof plastic T-V(s) able to be customformed in any design-form,to be universally applicable and reliably fixable either permanently or temporarily cooperable with a retentive ly prepared natural Tooth(teeth) in need.
These problems are overcome by a Tooth-Veneer Process for a 2-V(s) customformed in a distinct design(s) and form(s) substantially of flexibilized/fracture-proof material either in clear or tooth-colour.The function of its design-form(s) being universally applicable either as an esthetical dentureretainer(s) or as a tooth-facing(s) and reliably fixable onto a desirable natural tooth(s) which has been customformed to provide a cooperable interlocking sealed T-V Seat(s) to engage, and conform internally the T-V(s) in interlock onto its Seat(s) by a binder(s). Therefor Stages and respective procedural phases for technical means are provided to accomplish this Process for the T-V(s)ina a manner providing a: - Stage A:determining a desired Tooth-Colour and functional custom design-form for the T-V(s),adaptable to said Tooth(s) from which a rubber impression has been provided; Stage B:from the impression casting a replica TV Seat(s) in duplicate substantially as a work- and master-veneer processing model, excluding the interlocking contour of said replica(s) the- reof on th@s modified replica(s) forming the T-V(s),accordingly said desired design-form(s) ,rom flexibilized/fracture-proof resin(s) in clear or Tooth-Colour obtained from distinct As sortments of flexibilized Veneer Shades & a Veneer/Scanner Shade Guide, and forming hereby a distinct Shade Stratum, there oral of periodically grading of the finished T-V(s) for durable#use; Stage C:providing a distinct resin to customform the binder(s) as an interface between the T-V Seat(s) and T-V(s),when adapt ted,to conform internally in interlock the T-V(s) either temporarily or permanently
(page 3) onto tb e T-V Seat(s),abraded and deep-cleansed; Stages A and C being adaptable to flexibilized ceramic Tooth Veneer Processes.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be shortly described by way of an example such as a Veneer design functional as an incisal/labial cap Tooth-Veneer facing referring hereby to additional dental terms and drawings: Explanation of surface-directional dental terms relevant to crown -surfaces of a natural tooth: intra-oral: - within the mouth; labial(ly) or facial(:.ly): - facing towards the )tps I buccal(ly) :; -- facing towards the cheeks distal(ly): - facing towards the posterior part of the of the jaw-complex ; mesial(ly): - facing towards the anterior part of the jaw-complex ; lingual(ly): - facing towards the tongue in the region of the lower jaw) palatal(ly): : facing towards the palate in the region ol the upper jaw proximal(ly):facing or relevant to either the mesial or distal lateral tooth-side of a tooth adjacent to a neigh bour tooth; Tooth-Veneer Seat: desirable surfaees of any natural tboth which have been shaped and dimensioned to provide a seat to enter freely and to fit the internal dimension and shape structure of a Tooth-Veneer being a thinly walled/adaptable to said desirable surfaces interproximal(ly):relevant to proximal tooth surfaces of ad ;iacent tee opposed to each other; occlusal(ly) : facing or relevant to the grinding surface of posterior tooth; incisal(ly): facing or relevant to the cutting edge of an anterior tooth; Tooth-Veneer Seat replica: a synthetic reproduction from the

, In order to restrict the volume of the description of the invention without impeding the scope of teachings for the understanding of the invention, hereto reference directions are used to existing technical manuals informing the necessary teachings related to certain procedures for the execution of the invention in the Stages and related Phases of the Process.
The Process is accomplished in three Stages, each Stage includes Phases and each Phase included the sequence of procedures thereof.
Stage A : provid ing Phase I for: (i) Referring to Fig.2,in order to define a desired colour for a Tooth-Veneer!(s) 5 according to the invention, the colour will be, either, predetermined from adjacent natural Teeth cleaned-with pUmice and wetted, or is defined at free choice from å predetermined colour Tooth Shade Guide eg. Vita Lumina (Vita1Germany), or SR-Vivodent PE and Kerascop(Lichtenstein).
Note: Referring to Fig 3,for a case of a posterior Veneer Retainer 5P,the tooth-veneer colour is either a colour less clear or a desired esthetic tooth colours In either way of the colour determination for the Veneer, the colour is taken with the aid of a preshaded Tooth Shade Guide or a combined Tooth Veneer-Shade Guide/Scanner-Shade Guide device. The tooth colours of the Tooth Veneer-Shade Guide are colour-matched to the most commonly prescribed preshaded basic dentine(bony tooth structure) shadesstermed as Tooth Body Shades, within a range of tooth colours of the predetermined most used Tooth Shade Guide as aforespecified.
(ii) Referring to Fig.2,the desired design, according to the proposed example for the execution of the invention as specified (page 3) and being ,an esthetic tooth coloured incisal/labial cap Veneer 5.This facing will be secured in a relF @iable manner, either permanently or temporarily on a cooperable interlocking Veneer Seat 1+2, prepared on an anterior natural Tooth 4, and sealed with an adhesive sealer, not shown.
In order to pursue generally ari internally interlocking conformation, reliably either for a temporary or permanent T-V(s) accordingly the invention, aplicable onto a tooth in need prepared eg. as illustrated in Fig. 4,2,hereto the Phase i is led into phrase II: (i) From the Fig. 1 and 2 it will be seen that an Incisal "1/3 tooth portion" (a) ,Fig. 1 has been reduced into Tooth Surface Zones 1 accordingly an equal minute surface reduction 0.8-0.9 millimeter. These Zones have been further transformed in an interlock "Dovetail" like retention-form,2 .Fig*1 or 2.
It will be seen that its Top side of the dovetail portion 2 may be shaped to converge labialwards and its Proximal sides incline inwardly and downwardly to the neck of the desired tooth.
Note: An appropriate cleanser as known,is applicable to remove completely the smear of the aground enamel and dentine structure. Special: cleansers such as dentine cleansers are available from Bayer,Kulzer(Germany and other sources) (ii.) Referring to the Figs. 1 and 2,the total reduction according to the specification (i)has to be further phosphoric acid etched as known and indicated by the dotted aspect 3.Further the tooth enamel and dentine aspect of the reduction according to specification (i) are adhesive sealed against micro-leakage,veneer discoloration and secondary caries not shown and as known.
In order to define an appropriate adhesive sealer, @series of tests are undertaken.
Therefor a springloaded pulling test-device is provided, test- adaptable and able to define the appropriate adhesive sealing strenght of preferred adhesive resins, applied to ground surfaces,of extracted teeth, thereby'sealel and adapted onto proposed T-V(s). By this it is detected that such sealer should feature distinct physical properties.
These physical properties include:lnstant curable and nontoxic when applied to the dentine and enamel structure of the Tooth Veneer SeatCs)Solvent resistant & polymerisable when used in contact with a solution of a monomer/polymer dental resin mixture(eg. ethyl methacrylate). Such resin-mixture is applied to form a binder(s) for fixing the Veneer(s) to its Veneer Seat: (S) prepared as specified in specifica-tions (i) and (ii) of this Phase .11.
Therefor the inventor provides and uses an aliphatic oligomer as sealer'based on urethane/acrylic curable by light source and photocure catalyst. Or curable by a dual.eatalyst including a photocure catalyst cooperable-reactive with an appropriate chemical selfcure catalyst composed of an initiator/activator.
In order to cure the sealer instantly to the prepared tooth suitable white light source eg. Halogen 450750 Nanometer capacity directed on a closed distance of 35 millimeter to the sealer is appropriated.
Note: (i) Specially designed adhesive dentine sealers may be appropriate as. long as they respond to the required physical properties (eg. available from Kulzer or Bayer,Germany).
In general the tooth preparation for the Veneer according to the invention and as specified in the specifications (i),(ii) respectively, will be termed now as the "Veneer-Seat" 1+2*3, Fig.1 treated with the sealer as specified.
Referring to Fig.3,an alternative co-operable interlocking sealed Veneer-Seat(s) eg 1P+2 P+3 P may be provided and applicable solely onto a desirable posterior abutment tooth(teeth) eg 4 P Generally this Seat is pre-customformed tb adapt in interlock a customformed T-V snap ring clamp(s) 5P to be applied solely as aretainer-for fixable partial dental restorations.
More particularly this Seat(s) has been customformed with an equal minute reduced contour 1 P ot desired surf aces of said tooth(teeth) 4 P,eg the buccal and lingual(or pal atal) surface(s).
This reduction is dimensioned to correspond and fit at least 1/2 the depth (thickness) and full outline and dimension of the design-form of said Veneer ring clamp(s) 5 P detailed hereinafter.Thereby this reduction 1P being without or with an occlusal support seat8P cm'd with at least 3 spaced apart grooves 2 P accordingly a longitudinally horizontal course,on each buccal and lingual surfaces respectively of said tooth(teeth).
Thereby two of said grooves are internally dimensioned to cor respond and interlock at least 2 threads 6 P of the Veneer(s) 5 P ,leaving hereby one groove 7P void .Thereby the interpro ximal surface of Tooth-Veneer Seat(s) is sufficiently reduced for appropriate insertion of the Veneer ring-clamp(s) in its function as a retainer veneer(s) for fixable partial denture(s) Further this Seat(s) is deep cleansed with an appropriate den tin conditioner, dried with oil- and water-proof air, acid etched and sealed 3 P with a sealer.
Referring back to the ring-clamp veneer 5P/hereby its design form is generally dimensioned to adapt in interlock its engagement side without interference fit onto its Seat(s) as specified.
Thereby the engagement-side(s) of the ring-clamp(s) 5P projects: (1) on each of its clamp-section(s) at least two spaced apart threads 6P , accordingly said course, as specified for the corresponding grooves 2P of the Seat(s);hereby these threads 6P being adaptable in interlocking fit with said corresponding grooves 2 P respectively; (2) on the inter-proximal Surface(s)of the ring-clamp(s) 5 P there is formed inwardly an occlusal support 9P,or without.
Note Inwardly the ring-clamp T-V(s)is adaptable in interlock and conformed to be fixable permanently by a distinct binder( a6 spe cified hereinafter in page 22/a,Stage C,Phase II.
** This veneer type is solely produced from flexibilized fracture proof clear synthetic resin es specified in pages 10, 10/a,Stage Phase II.
*** This veneer type is solely applied as a retainer(s) onto a posterior abutment tooth(teeth) as specified in page 7/ a, line;3.
Further Phase II is led into Phase III of this Stage A From the proposed T-V Seat i+2+3,inluding its related toothareh and antogonist tooth-areh rubber impressions have been pro Vided and received as well as the occlusal registration.
Note: It is expected that the impression rubber material features a type that allows to cast multiple plaster models Thereby a type of consistent formstability when a delay for its further use of casting is expec-ted. Eg. a suitable rubber is selected from a vulcanising two component silicon designed with the consistency of an alginate based impression material which is used for general dental work.
A rubber quoted "Zerosil" is an appropriate type available from Dentamld,Germany as well as a rubber based on Silicon Vinyl available from dental suppliers. It is expected that the 2 components catalyst/base are delivered separately in jars(not tubes) in order to be able to stir each component separately with a spatel before the mixture.
In order to make the grade for the Veneer of the invention.fracture-,solvent-,abrasion-,form-,and colour-proof for its permanent use, and to be applied either in a clear or tooth coloured tone, hereto the Stage A is led into Stage BI providing Phase I for: (i) Forming duplicate Veneer Processing Models in the impression(s) provided from the Veneer Seat(s) and related tooth arch as specified in Phase III,Stage A.One model is formed of low density dental plas-ter or of high density dental stone plaster prepared with at- least one or two appropriate located suction channels..This model is termed as awork-veneer processing model
used to vacuum form a Laminate Strenghtener(s) during the course of the Veneer (s) according to the invention. In the same impression a second model is formed of high density dental stone pla- ster termed as a master-veneer processing model.
It is substantially of one piece or sawed in sectional tooth segments termed as veneer diestused for shading and fitting of the Laminate Strengtiener.Thereby an an antagonist model is made from an antagonist impression. to correspond said models, Note: * It is expectea that the dental practitioner should adopt the knowledge and practice about the conventional preparation of work-models corresponding to the Vacuum forming procedure (obtainable from the technical manual"Proform" vacuum forming Dental Resources,U.S.A.).
** Also it is required that he adopts the knowledge of the preparation of master-models formed in veneer-dies(obtai nable from Surgical Dent,U.S.A.,or Vita,Germany).
*** It is desirable to replicate the veneer-dies in shrink free plastic,eg.light curable composite resin in a tooth colour corresponding to the tooth colour of the natural pre pared T-V Seat(s) pursuing hereby assistance to the colouring act.
for the desired colour of the Veneer(s) of the invention .
**** Besides the practitioner should be able to define an appropriate stand of the work-model using the teeth either in a vertical or in a horizontal stand with the base of the model substantially formed accordingly.
(ii) In order to release the Veneer(s) from its Veneer Seat(s) replica of the work-processing model(s),as well as to place-and secure the Veneer on its Natural Seat (s) of the Stooth(teeth )during its process, hereto the undercut sides of the retention form 2,Fig.1 are blocked out straight by means of cement or blocking-out rubber putty forming herewith a modified replica Veneer-Seat@(s).
(iii) Referring back to StageAYhase I,(i) in order to reproduce a tooth colour for the Veneer of the invention, detailed herein in a later Phase VI,hereto the modified Veneer Seat replica(s) is modelled especially into a desirable restorative tooth shape, but slightly undersized by 0.2 mil lime1Ler.For the modelling I use blocking-out rubber putty hold in shape by means of two coats of clear nail varnish instant drying type. This restorative extended shape will be termed as a initial shade spacer 0.5 millimeter to create a a general shade space in the inside of said Laminate II Strenghtener(s) during its process of Phase/ hereafter.
In order to make the grade of the Veneer substantially fracture-proof ,pursuing herewith the proposed universal application for the Veneer, hereto a fracture-proof quality is provided to resist to fatigue failure during its process and intra oral use, whereby the Phase I,is led into Phase II of this Stage B for: (i) Hereby referring to Figure 2 as example, the Laminate Strenghtener( s ) 5 is conformed on the Veneer Seat replica(s) of B.Phase I,(iii),using therefor means as detailed herein.
(ii)ln order to adopt an economical and rapid manner of conforming either a single or plurality of Laminate Strengh tener(s) simultaneously, hereto the inventor uses a Vacuum forming procedure guided with the technical Manual "Proform", a dual chambered type thermo Vacuum forming apparatus and an appropriate dental grade plastic substantially of a clear polycarbonate resin sheet 0.3-1 millimeter thickness(available from D.R. dental resources U.S.A.).
Besides the inventor provides an extra small frame poly carbonate sheet-holder adaptable into the conventional sheet-holderto reduce the original polycarbonate sheet size 130x130 millimeters into a 40x40 millimeters sizeXwhich allows to produce a single Laminate strengthener in a rapid and economical manner.
Thereby in order to ascertain the correct position of the Laminate Strengthener(s) relative to the natural Seat(s) 1+2+3, during the further Phases of the Veneer Process, hereto the design and formation of the Laminate strengthenex(sJisextended across the front face of the neighbouring teeth of the wiork-model, (fii::i) '*The inventor applies a special dental grade poly carbonate resin, featurised with an appropriate additive(eg. silicon or other).that allows its polymer to be proceed under heat supply free from moisture infiltration and bubbles in the finished clear Laminate Strengthener(s) ** The inventor is aware that polycarbonate resin is processed for dental applications. However these dental applications are pursued for temporary use only, and are unreliable in the conventional manner for fixation universally the veneer restorations to its corresponding teeth in needy this is clarified hereinafter ** Due to the laek of various physical properties, eg. formstability in very thinly structures of 0.2-0.5 millimeter@,abrasion resistance for permanent use in such thickness, chemical solvent resistance, plaque resistance by food contact,in that case the polycarbonate resin would be inappropriate without further upgrading for the purpose of the
required Veneer of the invention. In order to counteract the cited lack of plastic physical properties the Process yields a later Phase VII for this Stage B Referring to Phase I,(i),Stage A,in general in reproduce order to ' the desired tooth colour for the Veneer(5) in accordance with the invention, hereto Phase II is led into Phase III of this Stage B for: It will be noted that the colour complex of a natural Tooth appears mostly in 3 distinct Shades, distributed on 3 Zones respectively of the Tooth Crown:comprised of an incisal 1/3 tooth edge zone,a dentine 1/3 central zone,a cervical or neck 1/3 zone.Thereby the Shade Zones are layered into a shade-stratum structure termed as a Tooth Shade Complex.Referring to Phase I of Stage A the Dentine Shade Zone(a bony toot*ubstance and shade) is taken for a basic tooth colour termed as a Tooth Body Shade, In an application for a complete esthetic tooth veneer facing where the Tooth Shade Complex is desired, refer previous statement, there is minimum space left 0.3-0.5 millimeter to colourmatch the proposed veneer facing with the selected Tooth Veneer Shade, referring hereby to Stage A,Phase I,(i).
This difficulty occurs due to the unique use of the Laminate SttengLhener(s).
This difficulty is approached by predetermining a special Veneer Shade System for reason that the conventional Tooth Shade Guide, from which the Tooth Veneer-Shade Guide and shade system are derived, has its Tooth Shades designed to reproduce tooth colours in a diameter thickness of 5 millimeters while the thickness of a Veneer is 0.9 millimeter.
In reference to the initial notation of this Phase III,hereto Phase IV of this Stage B is provided for the composition of proposed Veneer Shade System and related procedures generally contributed to: (1)arranging an assortment I of Initial Veneer Shades termed as 33ody. and Incisal Shades. - These shades are translucent and flexibilized and designed to be reproduced on the inside of the Laminate Strengthener(s),Phase I,iii,Phase V1 Stage B,(2).To enhance the desired final Veneer Shade ,hereto an assor:kment II is arranged in functionally corresponding veneer shades termed as Backing Shades, these shades are high chromatic opaque and flexibilized and designed to be produced on the proposed Body Shade(s); Note:To enhance characterization of particular tooth colour details, hereto Staining Shades diluted from the Backing Shades may be used and designed to be reproduced by a minute Staining technique between the Body and Backing Shade.
(3) to define the desired Tooth Veneer Shade, referring hereby to Stage A,Phase I,(i), as well as to select the appropriate Body Shade and corresponding Backing Shade from ' the' '-assortments' respectively, hereto a special Tooth Veneer Shade Guide/Scanner-Shade Guide device is predetermined and preformed.
1 specIfy now further in more detail about the Veneer Shade System: (i) Referring to the assortment I veneer shade materials, the mechanism for the constitution of the initial "Body Shades" is to colour match these shades to the selected "Body Shades" of the predetermined standard Tooth Shade Guide as specified in Stage A,Phase I,(i). However to effect the desired Body Shade(s) in a thickness of 0.3-0.5 millimeter inside the Laminate Strengthener(s), therefor the shades are matched and prepared in accordance with cervical (neck) shades of the tooth, shades respectively of the standard Tooth Shade Guide. These neck shades are dark medium opaque-tones when applied to a normal tooth thickness # of 5 millimeters. However when these dark tones are applied in a thickness of 0.3-0.5 millimeter they are effecting reversely translucent body shades.
(ii) The Body Shades assortment-(I)may be offered in medium opaque dark yellow-gray,dark yellow-reddish, dark grey-yellow-brown,reddish-brown,grey-greenish and others and blends thereof.
(iii) The Body Shades are labelled with a reference shade numbering corresponding in coordination with a respective reference Shade numbering of the Tooth Veneer Shade Guide and Scanner-Shade Guide device as proposed.
It will be understood that the Shdde Materials need similar flexibilized feature as specified for the material of the Laminate Strengthener referring to Stage B,Phase II.
Generally the Body,Incisa Veneer Shade Materials are chemically based on poly-ethyl methacrylate synthetic resin. Substantially the physical properties of the shade materials consist of a two component liquid monomer/clear powder polymer,A mixture of these effects chemical reaction,by using an exothermic catalyst system for self-curing rigid flexibilized hard /elastomeric resin. The monomer/polymer mixture is mixed in a "paint-on" consistency to adapt a resin layer of 0.3 millimeter into General Shade Space provided' into the Laminate inside(s),, To paint said layer ,a method and means are adopted
as outlined in a later Phase VII of this Stage B.The powder is chemically based on a clear ethylmethacrylate polymer including a peroxideAnd the liquid is based on a methyl-methacrylate monomer including a plasticizer and accelerator.Or the liquid is an ethyl alcohol and esters(eg phatalate).0r based on a mono and difunctional methacrylate ester blends such as lauryl methacrylate monomer/ polyethylene glycol dibenzoatelethyl alcohol acetatelmethyl methacrylate.Or based on a difunctional butylene glycol dimethacrylate/tetrahydrofurfuril(monofunctional).Or based on isobutyl methacrylate/ethoxy ethyl methacrylate by choice Note:The polymerization of proposed compositions is either effected by an appropriate initiator/accelerator chemical reactive self-curing system, alternatively by an appropriate photo-cure chemical and light source(halogen or Ultra-Violet),alternatively by a dual catalyst system of both systems combined.
In order to obtain the Body Shades in the desired colours, colourfast colorants are used such as pigments or combined pigments/dyestuffsand the appropriate manner to disperse the colorant in the polymer or the monomer. Thereby the shades are labelled with a reference shade numbering corresponding a reference shade numbering of the scanner-shade guide device as specified in a later Phase VI specified hereinafter.
Referring back to the Backing Shade veneer materials hereto an assortment(II)may offer these-shades in a sufficient range of chromatic shades of a high level of opacity eg. gold, beige, pale and dark ocre, brown umber, light and dark butter-scotch, orange, white grey, lemon yellow, creme, antartic blue, rose, light-green and other and blends thereof.
The Backing Shade Veneer materials are generally based on a copolymer poly-isocyanate/poly-ethyl methacrylate synthetic resin composition.
The physical properties of these yacking Shade materials are substantially related for the main part to the poly-ethyl methacrylate;chemically as aforespecified.Thereby related to a minimum amount of poly-isocyanate resin,, substantially of a two component poly-urethane cross-linking solvent synthetic resins respectively including a base resin and hardener.
The base may be a polyol resin related to polyester and poly ethers for cross-linking in isocyanates(eg. methylene dipara phe, nylene polyol and diacetyl). The hardener is a cross-.
linking polymerizable solvent related to a group of isocyanates(eg. diphenyl metane) and iso-prepolymers.
The mechanismsof the Backing Shades: The combined poly-isocyanate/poly ethyl methacrylate is pursued: 1. To use the poly-isocyanate as an appropriate medium desired to disperse/chromatic pigments as colourfast colorants evenly in the poly-ethyl methacrylate.4This-is This is to effect a high level of. opacity with a reliable colour stability in the expected range of backing shades of the invention without im peding the chemical physical properties of the main base ethyl-methacrylate. The conventional means for colorant dispersion has been attempted,However these cause" break down of the polymer ethyl-methacrylate used as an opaque shade layering technique of 0.1 millimeter. This way of System.
colorant dispersion is a major tribute to the Veneer Shade \ 2. Further to use the poly-ethyl methacrylate as a flexible base in shades accordingly the Body Shades as aforespecified.
3. The Backing Shades are prepared by blending a diluted mixture liquid monomer/powder polymer ethyl-methacrylate with a minute portion of desired chromatic pigmented poly-isocyan ate shade cross-linking mixture.
4. Further to define appropriate chromatic opaque shades respectively serving as Backing Shades. These cause to intensify, modify,or to obtain the desired selected Tooth Veneer colour when backed on the initial Translucent Body Shade, during its use to the Laminate Strenghtener inside(s).By this the Phase IV is led into Phase V for the Stage B for: Providing a special Tooth Veneer-Shade Guide Scanner-Shade guide device.Comprised of a Scanner substantially of minute fingerlike plastic tabs, representing the initial Body Shades as specified.Thereby comprised of a minute plastic ruler shaded with the range of chromatic prepared Backing Shades.
In conjunction a Tooth Veneer-Shade Guide comprised substan tially of fingerlike tabs representing Tooth Veneers shaded in a range of final colours. These colours correspond to the commonly used Tooth Shades within the range of the predetermined Tooth Shade Guide as specified.
Referring to Stage A .4P hase 1, (i) for the use of the Tooth Veneer-Shade Guide ,this use is similar as the conventional technique for the use of the Tooth Shade Guide.
The technique for the use of the Scanner-Shade guide is adopted by scanning the Back Shades of the ruler behindVpre- ferred initial Body Shade tab(s).This technique allows to intensify the preferred Body Shade(s),hereby detecting the appropriate colour relevant to the selected Tooth Veneer colour, defined with the Tooth Veneer Shade Guide. This scanning allows also to select the appropriate Backing Shade from its assortment 'll'.
