Abstract

The foldable alignment tool is positioned by utilizing the dartboard segregation wires 1 with the tool in the extended position. The uncovered projections 3 are inserted into the dartboard, positively uniting tool and dartboard. The dartboard is then rotated in a direction 4 to centralise the air pocket within a spirit level vial thus bringing the dartboard in correct alignment. The tool is then withdrawn from the board and closed by means of hinges. The main body of the tool fully protects the sharp projections in the closed position. <IMAGE>

Description

DARTBOARD ALIGNMENT TOOL This invention relates to a dartboard alignment tool.
Dartboards have been used for many years in pubs, clubs and private sector. Dartboards periodically require alignment to ensure the orientation is in the correct playing position.
This is normally by visual inspection.
According to the present invention there is provided a dartboard alignment tool comprising a contractable body making the tool pocket size. In the extended position two pins are exposed at a suitable distance to utilize the dartboard segregation wires for positioning of the dartboard alignment tool. At this stage the dartboard alignment tool is securely fixed to the dartboard, leaving the hands free to rotate the dartboard to the correct operating position and secure.
The correct alignment is determined by a vial that is mounted within the dartboard alignment tool.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with referance to accompanying drawing in which ;- Figure 1 Illustrates the tool in closed position Figure 2 Illustrates the tool being opened or closed Figure 3 Illustrates the tool in extended position Figure 4 Shows in perspective the dartboard alignment tool being inserted into the dartboard Figure 5 Illustrates the air pocket within the vial when the dartboard is incorrecly aligned Figure 6 Illustrates the air pocket within the vial when the dartboard is correctly aligned.
Refering to the drawing the dartboard alignment tool comprises of a body with contractable arms. Where in the extended position expose two projections that locate within the dartboard segregation wires.
The tool when not in use is compact utilizing its main body to protect the two sharp projections as shown in Fig 1. The arms can be unfolded as shown in Fig 2 extending to full operational position Fig 3 ready to be inserted into the dartboard.
The dartboard to be aligned is slightly loosened within its housing to allow rotation. The two sharp projections on the dartboard alignment tool are positioned evenly within the double scoring area of the numbers eleven and six resting on the segregation wires or adjacent to any common points situated within the dartboard Fig 4.
The dartboard is rotated in a direction that will centralise the air pocket within the vial. Figure 5 shows dartboard out of alignment. Figure 6 shows correct alignment of dartboard.
The dartboard is then secured into position without further movement in rotation.
The dartboard alignment tool withdrawn from the dartboard and closed protecting sharp projections Fig 1.

Claims (7)

CLAIM
1 A dartbaord alignment tool for aligning a dartboard comprising of a contractable body there of with level detecting device to detect alignment there of with projections that utilize the dartboard segregation wires to position alignment tool.
2 A dartboard alignment tool as claimed in claim 1 where in extendable means are provided to improve alignment accuracy.
3 A dartboard alignment tool as claimed in claim 1 or 2 where in the body contracts to pocket size tool.
4 A dartboard alignment tool as claimed in claim 1 where in projections are protected in closed position.
5 A dartbaord alignment tool as claimed in any procceding claim where in the tool is provided a means of detecting level.
6 A dartboard alignment tool as claimed in any procceding claim projections locate and secure tool to dartboard.
7 A dartboard alignment tool substantilly as described herein with referances to figures 1-6 accompanying drawing.
