Description

WINDOW ASSEMBLY BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to windows and more particularly to a window assembly consisted of aluminum windows, screen windows, and jalousie windows.
In order to protect against burglars, the windows of a house may be respectively furnished with a grate. However, it is dangerous to furnish a window with a grate, because the lock of the grate may get stuck easily under the beating of the sun and become not openable when it is to be opened for escape during a fire. Further, a window may be furnished with a screen window to protect against vermin, or furnished with a jalousie window or the like to regulate the air and light passing through. It is expensive and complicated to separately furnish a window with an additional screen window or jalousie window.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been accomplished under the aforesaid circumstances. It is therefore the main object of the present invention to provide a window assembly which combines a jalousie window, a screen window, and a double-glazing aluminum window into a unit. It is another object of the present invention of the present invention to provide a window assembly which protects against burglars. It is still another object of the present invention to provide a window assembly which is safe in use. It is still another object of the present invention to provide a window assembly which can be conveniently controlled to regulate the air and light passing through. It is still another object of the present invention to provide a window assembly which is easy to install.
According to the present invention, the window assembly is comprised of two aluminum profiles vertically pivoted within an aluminum outer frame, each aluminum profile carrying a jalousie window, a screen window, and a double-glazing window in proper order.
The aluminum outer frame has lock devices respectively connected to an alarm system and controlled to lock the aluminum profiles in the closed position. The aluminum profiles can be swung outwards through gO angle. The jalousie window of either aluminum profile is consisted of a series of horizontal slats controlled by a respective motor-driven gear box through a respective control switch to turn on the respective axles within 1700 angle to regulate the air and light passing between them.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Fig. 1 is a partial sectional plan view of an aluminum window frame according to the present invention; Fig. 2 is a perspective view of an aluminum profile according to the present invention, showing a jalousie window, a screen window, and a double-glazing window mounted thereon; Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the window assembly of the preferred embodiment of the present invention; Fig. 4 is a sectional plan view of the window assembly shown in Fig. 3; Fig. 5 is a longitudinal cross section of the window assembly of Fig. 3, showing the horizontal slats adjusted; Fig. 6 is a plan and partial sectional view of the window assembly of Fig. 3, showing each aluminum profile locked in the locked position by a respective lock device on the aluminum outer frame; Figs. 7A and 7B are partial sectional views of the window assembly of Fig. 3, showing the light regulated by turning the horizontal slats of the jalousie windows; and Fig. 8 is an applied view of the window assembly according to the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Referring to Figs. 1, 2 and 3, the aluminum window frame 1 is comprised of two aluminum profiles 11,12 (which may be arranged for inswinging or outswinging), each of which having mounting spaces 13, 14 and 15 for mounting a jalousie window 2, a screen window 3, and a double-glazing window 4. The screen window 3 and the double-glazing window 4 are made to slide on a bottom track on the respective aluminum profile 11 or 12 of the window frame 1 (see Figs. 7A and 7B). The mounting spaces 14 and 15 for the screen window 3 and the double-glazing window 4 are respectively separated from one another by parting strips 141, 152 for mounting the screen window 3 and the two glass plates of the double-glazing window 4. The mounting space 13 for the jalousie window 2 comprises two parting strips 131 bilaterally disposed in the vertical direction and having series of slat mounting holes 131a equally spaced at different elevations, which receive the end axles 22 of the horizontal slats 21 of the jalousie window 2. The aluminum profile 11 or 12 comprises a lock hole 111, into which the latch All of a respective lock device Al on the outer frame A locks (See Fig. 6). The aluminum profile 11 or 12 of the aluminum window frame 1 comprises a gear box 30 having a drive shaft 33 inserted with its two opposite ends into two opposite holes A3 on the outer frame A (see Fig. 6 again), and therefore the aluminum profile 11 or 12 can be swung outwards through 90" after the latch All has been released from the respective lock hole 111. Each horizontal slat 21 of the jalousie window 2 has two end axles 22 longitudinally aligned at two opposite ends and fitted into the respective slat mounting hole 131a on either parting strip 131 inside the mounting space 13 (see Figs. 4 and 5) and coupled to the shaft 321 of a respective driven gear 32 being driven by a respective drive gear 31, which is mounted on the drive shaft 33 and driven by a motor 34 through the control of a respective control switch 16 on either aluminum profile 11 or 12. The control switch 16 has control keys 161,162 and 163 for turning the horizontal slats 21 of the jalousie window on the parting strips 131 and the respective aluminum profile 11 or 12 on the outer frame A (see Fig. 6 again). Therefore, the horizontal slats 21 of the jalousie window 2 on either aluminum profile 11 or 12 can be synchronously and automatically turned within 1700 to regulate the air or light coming between them.
Referring to Fig. 6 again, the outer frame A is also made from an aluminum extrusion. By fitting the two opposite ends of the drive axle 33 on either aluminum profile 11 or 12 into the respective holes A3 on the outer frame A, the aluminum profile 11 or 12 is swingingly fastened to the outer frame A. By locking the latch All of the respective lock device Al on the outer frame A into the lock hole 111 on either aluminum profile 11 or 12, the aluminum profile 11 or 12 is locked in the closed position. An alarm system may be connected to each lock device Al on the outer frame A so that an alarm signal will be given automatically when either lock device Al on the outer frame A is damaged or unlocked after the alarm system has been turned on.
By means of controlling the control keys 161, 162 of the control switch 16 on either aluminum profile 11 or 12, the horizontal slats 21 of the jalousie window 2 on either aluminum profile II or 12 are synchronously turned forwards or backwards within 1700 angle to regulate the air or light passing between them.
Further, the arrangement of the double-glazing window 4 produces a satisfactory sound proofing effect; the arrangement of the screen window 3 prohibits entrance of outside vermin when the double-glazing window 4 is opened. The aluminum profile 11 or 12 of the aluminum window frame 1 can be respectively turned outwards through 90" angle by controlling the intermediate control key 163 on the respective control switch 16 after the latch All of the respective lock device Al has been released from the lock hole 111 on the respective aluminum profile 11, for escaping during a fire.
While only one embodiment of the present invention has been shown and described, it will be understood that various modifications and changes could be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
