Abstract
A golf trainer and exerciser comprising a weight attached to the shaft rear to the golf club head, the weight being made of mild steel tube held in position by a tapering pliable rubber spacer which has a hole through its centre and a vee slot from the hole to the circumference. The spacer is pushed onto the club shaft, just above the ferrule with its tapered end upwards and the weight is threaded over the golf club grip club and pushed down over the tapered end of the spacer. <IMAGE>
Description
GOLF TRAINER AND EXERCISER.
This invention relates to a Golf Trainer and Exerciser.
The vast majority of golfers before starting a round of golf will take a club and swing with it to loosen up.
A great many golfers will take two or three clubs bunched in their hands to add additional weight to their swing and so better exercise their hands and arms into a golf 'mode'.
According to the present invention there is provided a weight top fasten close to the golf club head to achieve the same effect as above.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1. Shows a perspective of a spacer.
Figure 1A. Shows a plan view of a spacer illustrating the
moulded vee slot via which the spacer is pushed
onto the club shaft.
Figure 2. Shows a perspective of the weight.
Figure 3. Shows the spacer pushed onto the club shaft just s above the ferrule or binding of the club.
Figure 4. Shows the weight being pushed down over the
spacer, anchoring it.
Referring to the drawings the spacer is made of moulded
medium pliability rubber.
The weight is made of mild steel tube cut to a standard
length. Different weights are achieved by using
different wall thicknesses of the same internal diameter tube.
Because of the rapid changes that are taking place in design and materials of golf clubs, variations in the spacers and weights would be made to allow for :
(a) extra thick golf club grips by
increases in the diameters of tube and spacer.
(b) golf clubs with carbon fibre oval shafts would
necessary require oval holes in the spacers.
Claims (4)
1. A golf trainer and exerciser is a weight to
attach close to the head of a golf club and
is safe to use because the steel cylindrical
weight is threaded over the golf club grip
and it cannot become detached from the golf
club while being held and centrafugel force
on both t-lle up arld down swing tightens the
weight onto the pliable rubber spacer.
2. A golf trainer and exerciser is small and
carried easily in a pocket. It can be
attached to a golf club in 3-4 seconds.
3. A golf trainer and exerciser can be used on
any club in a set.
4. A golf trainer and exerciser allows a natural
golf stroke even to striking a ball and
taking a divot.
