Abstract
Tool retainer means comprising an elongate flexible element and first and second attachment means spaced apart longitudinally of the said element and connected thereto, the first attachment means being for connection to an article distal from a work location, and the second attachment means comprising a loop of resilient material to encompass and resiliently grip a tool for use at the work location, e.g. a boat in water. <IMAGE>
Description
INVENTION: The Sea Grip Tool Guard 1) INVENTION FUNCTION: This invention is a specially-designed marine pr@duct used to prevent loss of @ools when working on boats around the waler.
2) INVENTION SPECIFICATION AND RECOMMENDED FABRICATION
PROCESS: This invention is fabricated with molded rubber and stainless steel.
3) ENGINEERING COMMENTS: The Sea Grip Tool Guard is a special marine product to prevent loss of @ools used in the repair of boats in and around the water. A latex rubber balloon has r reinforced molded section with a hole to accommodate a stainless steel clip. The balloon could be physically inflated or desig@@d with a rubber/metal valve @n part of the balloon for inflating and deflating. The stainless steel clip is designed to fasten to a molded rubber line approximately 36 inches in l@ngth and one-quarter inch in diamcter. The end of the molded rubber line will be designed witli a rubber loop used to pull tools through and keep them on the rubber line while working on tile boat.
A spare molded rubber loop assembly could also be accommodated on tile line or perhaps up to two or three. The rubber loop would be stretched around any tool being used. Should tile toul be dropped, tile clip attached to the balloon will save the tool from becoming lost in tile water, Tile clip could also be attached to a belt loop oti the user's pants.
4) GENERAL COMMENTS: The Sea Grip Tool Guard is a useful and practical producl for use in boat yards and for personal use for marine repair. This innovation could be marketed at most marine supply and specialty catalog supply stores.
