Abstract

The pot is in the form of a flat sheet bent round to form a pot shape and whose vertical edges contain male and female clasp (Figure 4) to clip together. The pot has outer screw thread (Figure 3) screwed to the inner screw thread of a drain tray (Figure 7) and a decorative tray ring (Figure 9) is screwed to the drain tray. To fit a larger pot the existing (outgrown) pot is placed inside the larger pot and the inner thread (Figure 2) of the larger pot is screwed to the outer thread (Figure 8) of the existing drain tray, and a larger drain tray is screwed onto outer thread of larger pot. Figure 11 shows a clasp seam separating needle. <IMAGE>

Description

INTERCWANGFARTB FLOWER POT THIS INVENTION RELATES TO AN INTERCHANGEABLE FLOWER POT Flower pots are well known containers for the use of growing plants, however, conventional flower pots create considerable compost spillage during the changeover of the plant to a larger flower pot.

An interchangeable flower pot, however, enables the transference of a pot bound plant to a larger flower pot without contents spillage.

According to the present invention, the interchangeable flower pot (drawing figure Al) is in the form of a flat sheet, which is bent round to form a flower pot shape (figure 1).

The vertical edges contain a male and female clasp (figure 4) which will clip together and be watertight.

The interchangeable flower pot outer screw thread (figure 3) is screwed to the inner screw thread of the drain tray (figure 7) and the decorative tray ring (figure 9 ) is screwed by its inner thread (figure 10) to the outer thread of the drain tray (figure 8).

To fit a larger interchangeable flower pot to an existing and outgrown interchangeable flower pot with plant, simply unscrew and remove the decorative tray ring (figure 9) from the drain tray (figure 6). After encircling and clasp seam fixing (figure 4) a larger (next size up) interchangeable flower pot (figure 1), lift up the existing interchangeable flower pot with its outgrown plant, and place it inside the larger interchangeable flower pot (figure 13). The inner thread of the larger interchangeable flower pot (figure 2) is screwed to the outer thread of the existing drain tray (figure 8) with its interchangeable flower pot and plant intact (figure 13). Screw onto the outer thread of the larger interchangeable flower pot (figure 3) a larger (next size up) drain tray (figure 6) and the corresponding decorative tray ring (figure 9).

To remove the outgrown interchangeable flower pot, use a knife and run it down and around the inside of the flower pot separating the compost from the pot. The outgrown interchangeable flower pot can then be unscrewed and released from its drain tray.

Fill the gap between the outgrown and the larger in-place interchangeable flower pots, with compost.

Using the clasp seam separating needle (figure 11), push the needle down vertically between the seam clasp (figure 12) and separate the two vertical edges of the outgrown interchangeable flower pot, lift up the unclasped, unscrewed and outgrown interchangeable flower pot, unwrap and remove from the plant, then top up the larger in-place interchangeable flower pot with any compost required.

The plant is now repotted without any compost spillage.

1. CLAIMS 1. AN INTERCHANGEABLE FLOWER POT ENABLES THE TRANSFERENCE OF A POT BOUND PLANT TO A LARGER INTERCHANGEABLE FLOWER POT WITHOUT CONTENTS SPILLAGE.

AN INTERCHANGEABLE FLOWER POT IS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 IS IN THE FORM OF A FLAT SHEET WHICH IS BENT ROUND TO FORM A FLOWER POT SHAPE OF WHICH THE VERTICAL EDGES CONTAIN A MALE AND FEMALE CLASP WHICH CLIP TOGETHER AND BE WATERTIGHT AND CONTAIN A SCREWTHREAD BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE AT ITS BASE RIM.
3. 3. AN INTERCHANGEABLE FLOWER POT IS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 OR CLAIM 2 WHEREIN A DRAIN TRAY CONTAINS AN INNER AND OUTER SCREWTHREAD AND CAN BE SCREWED TO A LARGER OR SMALLER INTERCHANGEABLE FLOWER POT ALLOWING ANY SIZE INTERCHANGEABLE FLOWER POT TO BE FITTED BY COMBINATION.
4. 4. AN INTERCHANGEABLE FLOWER POT SUBSTANTIALLY AS DESCRIBED HEREIN WITH REFERENCE TO FIGURES 1-13 OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS.
