Abstract
An insulated container is designed to accept the shape of a can or bottle of cold drink or beer. The can or bottle of cold drink or beer having been placed in the container is easily transportable, and the cool liquid contents can be consumed when required. The use of the container overcomes the inconvenience of using a bulky ice box or the use of a thermos flask which requires the decanting of the liquid. <IMAGE>
Description
INSULATED CONTAINER
This invention relates to an insulated container designed to accept a can of cold soft drink or beer.
Cans of soft drinks or beer are usually taken from a refrigerator at home or purchased from a chilled cabinet at a retail outlet, the contents of the cans being consumed immediately while still cold.
Methods of maintaining a cold temperature of the liquid are for example - a bulky portable ice box or a thermos flask where the contents of the can are decanted with a resultant loss of carbonation.
However on many occasions, for example during a journey or during the day at the office, cold cans of soft drinks or beer would not necessarily be available for consumption at those particular times.
According to the present invention the insulated container will keep the cooled can and liquid at a temperature that is acceptably low enough to the palate even after several hours from placing in the container.
Referring to the drawing Figure 1 the insulated container comprises an inner insulated jacket 10, an outer container 11 and screw cap lid complete with insulated pad 12.
The chilled can is placed in the container and the cap is screwed on until resistance of the insulation is felt.
When the drink is required, the cap is unscrewed, the can removed from the container and the ring pull removed.
The container can be manufactured using the same construction but also to accept an alternative shape such as a bottle.
Claims (3)
1) An insulated container substantially as described herein with
reference to Figure 1 of the accompanying drawing.
2) An insulated container which accepts cans or bottles of cold
drinks or beers, the container being manufactured with internal
dimension, generally to those of the cans or bottles.
3) An insulated container which will keep a can or bottle of cold
drink or beer at a cooler than ambient temperature for several
hours.
