Abstract
A spider ladder comprises a thin flexible Latex rubber strip (1) and a suction pad (5), the strip is designed to follow the inner contours of a bath. Suction pad (5) enables the strip to be positioned on or near the top edge of a bath. In use the suction pad is positioned on or near the top edge of a bath and the strip is allowed to fall under gravity down the inner contours of a bath. Trapped spiders searching for an escape route will scale the spider ladder by means of (2) and (3) the inner and outer steps respectively. <IMAGE>
Description
Spider Ladder
This invention relates to a Spider Ladder and more particularly to a Spider Ladder for attachment to a bath or basin.
The common house spider is often trapped within a bath or basin. This is mainly due to a spider's inability to negotiate or scale the smooth inner countours of a conventional bath or basin.
According to the present drawing, figure (1) shows a thin flexible rubber strip attached to a suction pad, figure (5). The suction pad, figure (5), is positioned on or near the top edge of a bath or basin and the Spider
Ladder is allowed under gravity to follow the inner contours of a bath or basin until the free end is positioned at the inner base.
In order to prevent spiders from seeking refuge under the
Spider Ladder, figure (1), the strip is made from a flexible material preferably rubber or plastic. To prevent slipping consideration is given to the adhesive properties of the material chosen, as this assists a spider when climbing the Ladder.
The width of the base assists a spider seeking refuge to find the Ladder quickly and climb the Ladder faster.
Figures (2) and (3) show the inner and outer steps respectively. Figure (4) relates to the thickness of rubber which surrounds the suction pad. This has the advantage of added strength to the suction pad base.
Claims (6)
1. A Spider Ladder comprising a thin flexible Latex rubber strip, means for attaching the Latex to a bath, a basin or sink inner and outer steps and a wide base.
2. A Spider Ladder as claimed in claim 1 wherein a
Suction Pad is provided attached to the Latex strip.
3. A Spider Ladder as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 where the adhesive properties of the Latex rubber strip enables a spider(s) to scale a Spider Ladder.
4. A Spider Ladder as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 or claim 3 considerationis given to the nature of the species or family of spiders in their preference for colours with reference to the colour of a Spider Ladder.
5. A Spider Ladder as claimed in claim 1 a thin
Latex rubber strip is flexible as required to follow the inner contours of a bath, a basin or sink.
6. A Spider Ladder substantially as described herein with reference to Figures (1)-(2)-(3)-(4)-(5) of the accompanying drawing.
