Abstract

An aluminum frame (1) of a door or window has an oxide film (2) which is formed by anodization and which is provided on the surface of the frame (1). The oxide film (2) has a patterned layer (10) with a plurality of patterns of different colors. A layer of transparent resin (20) is provided on the patterned layer (10) in order to protect the patterned layer (10). <IMAGE>

Description

ALUMINUM FRAME OF A DOOR OR WINDOW This invention relates to an aluminum door or window frame, more particularly to an aluminum door or window which has a plurality of patterns provided thereon.
Aluminum frames are widely used to construct door or window frames. The aluminum frame is provided with an oxide film which is formed by anodization. The oxide film of the aluminum frame is monochromatic and is monotonous.
It is therefore a main objection of this invention to provide an aluminum frame which is provided with a plurality of patterns and which is attractive.
Accordingly, the aluminum frame of a door or window of this invention has an oxide film which is formed by anodization and which is provided on the surface of the frame. The oxide film has a patterned layer with a plurality of patterns of different colors provided thereon. A layer of transparent resin is provided on the patterned layer in order to protect the patterned layer.
Other features and advantages of this invention will become apparent in the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment of this invention with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Figs. 1 and 2 are fragmentary perspective views of a preferred embodiment of an aluminum door or window frame of this invention; and Fig. 3 is a cross sectional view of the aluminum door or window frame of this invention taken along the lines A-A in Fig. 2.
Fig. 1 shows a fragmentary perspective view of a preferred embodiment of an aluminum door or window frame (1) of this invention. The external surface of the aluminum door or window frame (1) is provided with an oxide film (2) by means of anodization as in the prior art. The oxide film (2) is provided with a patterned layer (10) during a printing, spraying or adhering process. A plurality of patterns of different colors are thus provided on the oxide film (2). The colors of the patterns on the patterned layer (10) are different from the color of the oxide film (2). The patterns may be formed to match the style of the interior decoration. A layer of transparent resin (20) is provided on top of the patterned layer (10) in order to protect the patterned layer. (10) from damage, as best illustrated in Figs. 2 and 3. The transparent resin layer (20) may be made of polyurethane or epoxy resin.
It is noted that the aluminum door or window frame (1) with a plurality of patterns of this invention is more attractive than the conventional aluminum door or window frame. In addition, the patterns on the oxide film (2) are protected by the transparent resin layer (2) from damage.

Claims (4)

CLAIMS:
1. An aluminum frame of a door or window having an oxide film which is formed by anodization and which is provided on a surface of said frame, the improvement comprising-said oxide film having a patterned layer with a plurality of patterns of different colors provided thereon, and a layer of transparent resin provided on said patterned layer.
2. An aluminum frame as claimed in Claim 1, wherein said layer of transparent resin is made of polyurethane resin.
3. An aluminum frame as claimed in Claim 1, wherein said layer of transparent resin is made of epoxy resin.
4. An aluminum frame substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
