Abstract

An article for stimulating specific points on the heel of a wearer comprises a plastic sole part (Figure 2) with circular protusions, V shape slits at the rear and a strip of Velcro (RTM) fastener on its under side, and an elastic covering part (Figure 1) with a mating Velcro strip on its upper side and straps 2 and 4 on either side carrying further Velcro fasteners 1 and 5, which enable the heel strapper to be worn securely. The circular protrusions on the sole have a massaging action which relieves aches and pains in the lower back caused by stress and sciatica. <IMAGE>

Description

HEEL ThEL STRAPPER This invention relates to a heel strapper.
Heel strappers are therapeutic devices specially designed to be worn on the heel of the feet. Based on reflex therapy, heel strappers serve to stimulate specific points on the sole of the heel by providing massaging action to relieve pain and ache in the lower back of the body caused by sciatica and stress.
Heel strapper consists of two main parts. The first is a piece of plastic sole moulded in the shape of the sole of the heel. On its upper side there are circular protusions arranged specifically; while the under side has a strip of valcro fastener. The rear of the plastic sole has four 'V' shape slits. The second part is an elastic covering shaped te fit the heel of the foot. Straps with valcro fastener are attached on either side of the covering. The base of the covering also has a strip of valor fastener.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which : Figure 1 shows the elastic covering.
Figure 2 shows the upper side of the plastic sole.
Figure 3 shows the under side of the plastic sole.
Figure 4 shows the complete heel strapper.
Referring to the drawing the heel strapper has two separate parts; a plastic sole as shown in Fig. 1 and an elastic covering as shown in Fig. 2. The plastic sole is to be placed inside the elastic covering to form the complete heel strapper as seen in Fig. 4.
Inorder to keep the two parts in place, the valcro fastener 12 has to be joined to the valcro fastener 3. The two parts can easily be separated by prising them apart.
When wearing the heel strapper, the strap 2 and strap 4 will go over the foot and then joining the valcro fastener 1 and 5. It is essential for the straps to be firm and secure in order for the heel strapper to work effectively. To remove the heel strapper from the foot, simply pull the valcro fastener 1 away from velcro fastener 5.

Claims (6)

CIAThIS
1 Heel strapper has a stretchable cover with straps on either side and valcro fastener on the straps which enable the device to be worn firmly and securely to the heel of the foot.
2 Heel strapper has a plastic sole with circular protusions arranged at specific points to provide massaging action to the sole of the heel.
3 Heel strapper as claimed in claim 2 has 'V' shape slits at the rear of the plastic sole.
4 Heel strapper as claimed in any preceding claim, when worn is able to provide stimulation to specific points around the sole of the heel's region. This stimulation has a massaging action which will relieve ache and pain in the lower back of the body caused by stress and sciatica.
5 Heel strapper has valcro fastener on the under side of the plastic sole and the inside of the elastic covering serving to bond the two parts together.
6 Heel strapper substantially as described herein with reference to Figure 1 - 4 of the accompanying drawing.
