Description

VENTILATOR WITH FUEL GAS LEAKAGE DETECTION AND AUTO EXHAUST CONTROL BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to ventilators and relates more particularly to a ventilator for kitchen grease exhaust which has an alarm control device which gives an alarm and automatically turn on the fan and motor assembly thereof upon detection of a fuel gas leakage.
While boiling a kettle of water by a gas stove in the kitchen, the flame of the gas stove may be extinguished by the overflow of boiled water, if the kettle is kept at the boil, thereby causing a fuel gas leakage. A fuel gas leakage may also happen if the burner control knob of a gas stove is not turned off when the gas stove does no work. It is very dangerous if a fuel gas leakage is not immediately stopped after its occurrence.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been accomplished under the aforesaid circumstances. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a ventilator for kitchen grease exhaust which gives an alarm immediately upon the detection of a fuel gas leakage.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a ventilator for kitchen grease exhaust which automatically turns on a fan and motor assembly to remove the escaped fuel gas upon the detection of a fuel gas leakage. It is still another object of the present invention to provide a ventilator for kitchen grease exhaust which is safe in use.
According to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, a ventilator comprises an antiknock fan and motor assembly, and an alarm control device consisted of a fuel gas detector, a relay, an integrated circuit and an alarm. The antiknock fan and motor assembly and the alarm are simultaneously triggered to operate as a fuel gas leakage was detected by the fuel gas detector.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Fig. 1 is a perspective plain view showing a ventilator of the present invention installed in a kitchen; Fig. 2 is a circuit diagram of the alarm control device of the ventilator; Fig. 3 is a plain view showing a fuel gas leakage detected by the alarm control of the ventilator; and Fig. 4 is another plain view showing the antiknock fan and motor assembly turned on to draw off the escaped flow of the fuel gas.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Referring to Fig. 1, a ventilator as constructed in accordance with the present invention is generalLy comprised of a housing 1, an antiknock type fan and motor assembly 2, and an alarm control device 3.
Referring to Fig. 2, the alarm control device 3 comprises a fuel gas detector 31, an integrated circuit 32, an enclosed type relay 33 and an alarm 34.
Because the relay 33 is of an enclosed type, no sparks will be produced during its operation. If a fuel gas leakage is detected by the fuel gas detector 31, a signal is given to the integrated circuit 32 by the fuel gas detector 31 causing the integrated circuit 32 to turn on the alarm 34. At the same time, the enclosed type relay 33 is electrically connected to turn on the antiknock type fan and motor assembly 2 in removing leaked fuel gas.
Referring to Figs. 3 and 4, if the flame of the gas stove 4 was extinguished by the overflow of boiled water as the kettle is kept at the boil, a continuous flow of the fuel gas will be continuously discharged out of the gas stove 4 (see Fig. 3). Once the discharged flow of fuel gas 5 was detected by the fuel gas detector 31 of the alarm control device 3, the antiknock type fan and motor assembly 2 is immediately turned on to remove the discharged flow of the fuel gas out of the kitchen, at the same time the alarm 34 of the alarm control device 3 is triggered to give an alarm (see Fig. 4).
The embodiment described is simple in structure and therefore functional. However, it is to be understood that various changes could be made without departing from the scope of . the invention and the invention is not to be considered limited to what is shown in the drawings and described in the specification.

Claims (3)

What is claimed is:
1. A ventilator for kitchen grease exhaust comprising a housing, an antiknock type fan and motor assembly controlled by a switch control to draw off kitchen grease from a kitchen, and an alarm control device, wherein said alarm control device comprises a fuel gas detector controlled by an integrated circuit te detect the leakage of a fuel gas, an enclosed type relay connected between said integrated circuit and said antiknock type fan and motor assembly, and an alarm connected to said integrated circuit; said fuel gas detector gives a signal to said integrated circuit upon the detection of a fuel gas leakage, causing said integrated circuit to turn on said antiknock type fan and motor assembly and said alarm automatically.
2. A ventilator according to claim 1 and as herein described.
3. A ventilator as herein described with reference to. and as shown in, the accompanying drawings.
