Abstract
A harness mounting device of a loom includes a plurality of harnesses (1) of the same length suspended from a pattern mechanism at the same level by respective harness cords (2) to provide a plurality of harness eyes (11) at different levels for inserting warp threads. Elastic members (3A) may be respectively connected to the harnesses at the bottom to hold them in place so that warp threads are prohibited from getting easily entangled. Each harness (1) may have a plurality of eyes (11) or may have a single non-central eye to allow the latter to occupy different levels when the harness is connected in an inverted disposition. <IMAGE>
Description
HARNESS MOUNTING DEVICES FOR A PATTERN LOOM
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a harness mounting device for a pattern loom which uses elastic members to hold harnesses in place, which are of the same length respectively suspended from the pattern mechanism of a pattern loom at the same level by respective harness cords.
In a pattern loom, a plurality of harnesses (1') are suspended from the pattern mechanism by harness cords (2') and respectively coupled with weights (3') on the bottom (see Fig. 1). The harnesses (1') have each a respective harness eye (11') on the middle and respectively arranged at different levels, and therefore a plurality of harness eyes (11') are disposed at different heights for inserting warp threads. During the operation of the pattern mechanism, the harnesses (1') are alternatively moved up and down according to the design of the pattern sample. Because the harnesses (1') are arranged at different levels, the warp thread on one harness (1') may be hooked by the weight (3') or another harness. Furthermore, the weights (3') may swing to and fro during the operation of the pattern mechanism, causing the warp threads to get easily entangled at the tieings (4'), or be broken.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention eliminates the aforesaid problems. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a harness mounting device for a pattern loom which makes the installation of harnesses easy and improves the performance of a pattern loom. According to one aspect of the present invention, the harnesses are arranged at the same level with the top end respectively connected to the pattern mechanism by a respective harness cord and the bottom end secured in place by a respective elastic member, which may be a spring or elastic band, to provide harness eyes at different heights for inserting warp threads. According to another aspect of the present invention, the harnesses have each a plurality of harness eyes at different heights for inserting warp threads.According to an alternate form of the present invention, each two harnesses are suspended in.
reverse directions to provide harness eyes at different heights for inserting warp threads.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
Referring to Figs. 2A and 2B, harnesses 1 of the same length have each a top end connected to a pattern mechanism (not shown) by a respective harness cord 2 and a bottom end connected to a locating base 4 by a respective elastic member 3A or 3B. The elastic member 3A or 3B can be a spring or elastic. Each harness 1 has a plurality of harness eyes 11 at different levels for inserting warp threads alternatively (see Fig. 3). Therefore, the harness 1 are conveniently suspended at the same level with harness eyes 11 at different levels for inserting warp threads. This arrangement eliminates neighbor warp threads from being tangled as the pattern loom is in operation.
Referring Fig. 3, 4 and 5, a harness 1 according to the present invention may be variously embodied. In Fig. 3, the harness 1 has a plurality of harness eyes 11 spaced from one another at equal internal, and therefore several harness eyes 11 are disposed at different heights for inserting warp threads when several harnesses 1 are suspended from the pattern mechanism of a pattern loom at the same level by respective harness cords. In Fig. 4, each harness 1 has a single harness eye 11 adjacent to one end thereof, and therefore two harness eyes 11 are disposed at two heights for inserting warp threads when two identical harnesses 1 are suspended side by side at the same level with either one turned upside down. In Fig. 5, the left-handed harness has a harness eye on the middle, the right-handed harness and the intermediate harness are identical but arranged in reverse directions which have each a harness eye adjacent to one end.
Claims (4)
1.- A harness mounting device comprising a plurality of harnesses of the same length suspended from a pattern mechanism at the same level by respective harness cords to provide a plurality of harness eyes at different levels for inserting warp yarns, said harnesses having each a bottom end secured in place by a respective positioning means.
2. The harness mounting device according to claim 1, wherein said harnesses have each at least one harness hole respectively spaced from two opposite ends thereof at different distance so that at least two harness holes are disposed at different heights for inserting warp yarns as two adjacent harness are suspended from the pattern mechanism in reverse directions.
3. The harness mounting device according to claim 1, wherein said positioning means is an elastic member secured to a bottom seat.
4. Harness mounting devices as herein described and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
