Description

DISPLAY APPARATUS The present invention relates to a rotatable leaflet-type photo frame which is rotatably mounted to a supporting stand with a leaflet binder secured thereto. A plurality of photo receiving leaflets are turnably engaged with the binder. The supporting stand is engaged with the photo frame by way of a pivot shaft so that the frame can be freely rotated. On the reverse side of the photo frame is disposed a number of positioning recesses which are selectively engaged with a bended end of an elastic strip so that the frame can be held in a vertical or horizontal position as desired. Moreover, the photo receiving leaflets can be selectively turned so as to exhibit any preferred photos on the frame.
As shown in Fig. 1, the most known conventional photo frame 1A is generally made in a rectangular shape and has an elongated slot llA defined on one edge thereof and a transparent cover 2A disposed thereon and a standing leg 3A secured to the back of the frame. A photo is inserted into .the elongated slot llA and located behind the transparent cover 2A. Another prior art photo frame is illustrated in Fig. 2 which is equipped with a pair of foldable frame pieces, the photos are put into the frame pieces from the back thereof.
Those prior art photo frames has the following disadvantages: 1. The size of the inserted photo is limited by the dimension of the frame.
2. Only a small number of photos can be inserted into the frame with one overlaying the other and the desired photo must be moved to the front of the photos for exhibition.
The selection and location of the desired photo is relatively inconvenient for a person is bothered to take all the inserted photos out and pick out the one preferred and place it at the front of the photos.
3. The frame is manufactured for only a specific type of photo which is taken in a vertical or horizontal orientation and the frame can seldomly be adapted for both types of photo.
The primary object of the present invention is to provide a rotatable leaflet type photo frame adjustably mounted unto a supporting stand which is held by a pivotal supporting leg and a number of leaflets are turnably secured to a binder that is riveted to the frame so- that photos of different size, such as 3 x 5 inch or 4 x 6 inch, can be put in the photo receiving leaflets and a person can selectively exhibit the preferred photo by simply turned the same to a proper page.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a rotatable leaflet-type photo frame which is able to be freely turned and be fixed in place each time rotated 90 degrees so that the photos can be placed in a vertical or horizontal manner as desired.
According to the present invention there is provided a plurality of leaflets for receiving photographs and having transparent covers through which the photographs are viewable, a rectangular frame having a binder to which respective edge portions of each of the leaflets are pivotally bound to allow photographs within selected leaflets to be displayed by turning the leaflets to a selected position, and a support stand supporting the frame in a substantially upright position, the frame being rotatably connected to the support stand such that a photograph within the selected leaflet can be rotated to an orientation appropriate to a subject displayed in a displayed photograph.
Fig. 1 is a diagram showing the first prior art photo frame; Fig. 2 is a diagram showing the second prior art photo frame; Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the exploded components of the present rotatable leaflet-type photo frame; Fig. 4 is a pespective view of the present invention; Fig. 5 is a sectional view of the frame, taken along the line of 3B-3B of Fig.3; Fig. 6 is a sectional view of the frame, taken along the line of 3C-3C of Fig.3; Fig. 7 is a diagram showing the embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to Figs.3, 4, the present invention comprises a leaflet binder 10, a photo frame 20, a supporting stand 30, a supporting leg 40 and a plurality of photo receiving leaflets 50.
The leaflet binder 10 to which the photo receiving leaflets are pivotably secured is so well known that no detailed description thereof is necessary; there are a number of rivet holes 11 are disposed thereon for the attachment thereof to the photo frame 20.
The photo receiving leaflet 50 is made up of a paper board 51 having a piece of transparent plastic cover 52 attached thereto; a photo receiving concavity 511 is disposed at the central portion of the paper board 51 so as to permit a photo of a specific size, such as 3 x 5 inch, to be inserted thereinto; and the transparent plastic cover 52 is sealed along the three sides thereof when attached to the paper board 51 so that a photo of 4 x 6 inch can also be placed in the space 53 defined in the leaflet 50. A plurality of perforated holes 54 are disposed on one side of the leaflet 50, permitting the same to be removably secured to the leaflet binder 10 and a curved recess 55 is disposed on the opposite side thereof. The curved recesses 55 are arranged in such a manner that they are not flush with each other when the leaflets 50 are bound together, permitting the same to be turned with ease.
The center of the photo frame 20 is provided with a screw hole 21 so that a screw passing through a hollow pivot shaft 36 can secure the same to the photo frame 20.
There are rivet holes 22 disposed above and below the screw hole 21 for the riveting of the leaflet binder 10 to < the photo frame 20. On both sides of the screw hole 21 is disposed a concave area 23 respectively so that a photo can also be located therein. A through hole 24 is disposed in each concave area 23 for facilitating the removal of the photo disposed therein by a finger. On both the upper edge and lower edge of the frame are disposed a pair of symmetric guard flanges 25 so as to suppport the attached leaflets 50 in place without leaning to one side, as shown in Fig. 5.
On the reverse side of the photo frame 20 are disposed two sets of symmetric positioning recesses 26 which can be selectively in engagement with the bended end 351 of an elastic strip 35 secured to the supporting stand 30 so that the photo frame 20 can be held in place when the frame is turned 90 degrees each time.
The pivotal shaft 36 is rotatably engaged with the hole 31 disposed on the supporting stand 30 and a locking washer 37 is engaged with the groove 361 disposed on the end of the pivot shaft 36 so that the photo frame 20 can be rotatably mounted unto the stand 30, as shown in Fig.6.
On the rear edges of the supporting stand 30 are disposed a pair of symmetric enforcement ribs 32, referring to Fig. 6, each of which is provided with a through hole 33 so that the supporting leg 40 can be pivotally secured to the supporting stand by engaging the protrusion points 42 disposed on the extended arms 41 of the supporting leg 40 with the through holes 33 respectively.
The elastic strip 35 having a bended end 351 is secured to the supporting stand 30 by screws engaging with the screw holes 34 thereon. The bended end 351 of the elastic strip 35 can be in selective engagement with the positioning recesses 26 of the photo frame 20 for fixing the same in position. At the bottom of the supporting stand 30 are disposed a pair of protrusion blocks 337 for the ready holding of the supporting stand 30 when the photo frame 20 is rotated.
Referring to Figs. 4, 7, the present photo frame can be selectively rotated so as to make the inserted photo placed in a vertical or horizontal manner, as a person desired; and the leaflets can be turned to a specific page for exhibition of a preferred photo.
