Abstract

A cam arrangement for operating the sinkers (13) of a circular knitting machine comprises pairs of cam elements (19, 20) abutting each other end to end at mating curved surfaces (21) and connected to a supporting ring (12) by screws (15, 16). <IMAGE>

Description

IMPROVED MECHANISM OF THE TRANSMISSION DIAMOND PIECES FOR PATTERN WHEELS KNITTING MACHINE Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an improved mechanism of the transmission diamond pieces for use on a pattern wheels knitting machine, in which each transmission diamond piece formed by a pair of half-body elements is fixed between the pressing plate and the notch of the reed by thread rods screved through the pressing plate and is able to be adjusted to desirable angle or position to decrease the friction with the reed and prolong the life of the knitting machine.
Background of the Invention In the knitting device of a pattern wheels knitting machine, the reeds surrounding the stitch cylinder are activated, in the high speed rotation of the cylinder, by the transmission diamond pieces fixed respectively between the pressing plate and the notch of each reed to perform a back-and-forth motion in accordance with the weaving of the needles to form the material thread into a piece of cloth.
The transmission diamond pieces must be firmly connected with the reeds so that each reed can move back and forth continuously. AccordinglY. the contacted Part of the reed and the diamond piece on a conventional knitting machine can be damaged frequently due to the high speed operation of the knitting and thereby lower the productivity and raise the cost.
There is a prior art titled "IMPROVED TRANSMISSION DIAMOND PIECE OF KNITTING MACHINE", allowed as Taivan Patent No.79208703, discloses a device for lovering the wearing of the reeds in which an adjustable auxiliary diamond piece is added to the end of each first diamond piece so that in the knitting procesure the friction between the reed and the diamond piece Produced by the push of the thread will be transfered to wear other unimportant part and thereby prolong the life of the reeds.
In fact, in the aforegoing prior art, it is just added with an auxiliary diamond piece to each transmission diamond Piece for the friction with the reed, the wearing of the reed is still there.
In a knitting motion, the transmission diamond pieces chained in a circle will have certain contact and friction with each reed. However such friction can be considerably relieved by adjusting each diamond piece to an ideal arched position, which is to say that, the transmission diamond pieces of the conventional knitting machine or the prior art are not adjusted to a desirable angle and position so that there will be unproper and overload wearing.
Summary of the Invention To overcome the disadvantage mentioned above, the present invention provides an improved mechanism of the transmission diamond pieces for the pattern wheels knitting machine, which every transmission diamond Piece in the mechanism formed by a pair of half-body elements is fixed between the pressing plate and the notch of the reed by two thread rods and is able to be adjusted easily and rapidly to desirable position, to decrease the wearing of the reeds.
Therefore, it is the main object of the present invention to provide an improved mechanism of the knitting machine that is needless to add an auxiliary diamond piece for lowering the friction so as to save the cost.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide an improved mechanism of the transmission diamond pieces formed respectively by a pair of half-body elements in which the diamond pieces chained into a circle can be adjusted to a proper position so that the reeds can move more smoothly to increase the operation speed and raise the productivity.
Brief Description of the Drawings FIG. 1 is a- front view of the present invention installed on a Pattern wheels knitting machine.
FIG. 2 is a perspective view shoving the transmission diamond piece, the pressing plate, and the reed.
FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view showing the assembled transmission diamond piece, the pressing plate, and the reed.
FIG. 4 is a perspective of the transmission diamond piece of the present invention.
Detailed Description of the Invention As shown in FIG. 1, 2, and 3, the improved mechanism of the transmission diamond piece is structured by a pair of half-body elements 19, 20 respectively fixed between the pressing plate 12 and the notch 14 of the reed 13 by screving two thread rods 15,16 into two threaded holes 17, 18 on the plate 12.
Each transmission diamond Piece is formed with a pair of half-bodr elements 19, 20 in which the connecting surface 21 between the two elements is arched.
A number of transmission diamond pieces are connected together by the arched surface, as shown in FIG. 4, to form into a circle on the rack of the machine in accotdance with the circular shape of the machine body 11.
As mentioned above, each transmission diamond piece formed br two half-body elements is chained with another two transmission diamond pieces from the arched surfaces on the two ends; and individual half-body element 19, or 20 can be adjusted to a desirable angle or Position according to the flexibility of the thread rod 15, or 16 so as to achieve a smooth performance. The transmission diamond piece can thereby be functioned in accordance with the reed efficiently to decrease unproper compression and friction, and to smooth the knitting operation.
It is seen from the aforegoing description that the improved mechanism of the transmission diamond pieces of the present invention which has an uncomplicated strucutre, constituted by a pair of half-body elements with arched connecting surfaces at both end to form a smoothy chain to decrease the friction with the reed, speed the operation of the knitting, is indeed a novel and progressive design.

Claims (1)

  1. Vhat is claimed is:
an improved mechanism of the transmission diamond piece for the pattern wheels knitting machine comprising a number of transmission diamond pieces respectively fixed between the pressing plate and the notch of the reed by two thread rods screwed in two threaded holes on said pressing plate; wherein each transmission diamond piece is formed by a pair of half-body elements which has arched connecting surface every transmission diamond piece is connected to another transmission diamond piece from said arched surfaces to form a circle on the rack of the machine in accordance with the circular shaPe of the machine body.
