Abstract
A road filler product comprises asphaltic concrete, stone aggregate, gas oil and an adhesive improver.
Description
ROAD FILLER
This invention relates to a road filler product
Road filler products could be used to do repairs in asphalted concrete surfaces only In the traditional method you have to frame the hole in the road , and dry it before applying an asphaltic primer, this requires a special equipment and labour Then when the asphaltic primer is dried, the mixture of asphalted concrete and stone is applied at a temperature of 130 to 170 centrigrades, after this a roller has to be used at a mixing temperature not less than 110 centrigrades, to obtain a good density, this requires labour as well as rearranging traffic deviations in the road
The components of this formula are the following
Asphaltic Concrete ( Bitalco is the one used in the Argentina from the national petrol company YPF
Adherence Improver ( the one used in Argentina of Quimica
Boanerense in Buenos Aires 6as Oil
Oils : Nuto It ( ESSO ) or TELIUS 37 ( SHELL
Stone Aggregate, Physical Analysis and Grading

Absorption 1-2.5 %
Abrasion Los Angeles 40 % max.
Sieve 200 per wash 2 % max.
Temperature Tolerance -30 Centigrades up to 50
Centrigrades over 0
ROAD FILLER FORMULA
BITALCO 4.8 % of stone aggregate
Gas Oil 0.96% of stone aggregate
Oils ( Telius 37 -SHELL- 0.2 % of stone aggregate or Nuto H 32 -ESSO
Adherence Improver 1 % of Bitalco
EXAMPLE
BITALCO 5.200 Kg 5.200 x 100 = 108.333 Kg of stone
4.8 108.333 x 0.96 % = 1040 Kg then 1.040 Kg % % 0.75 ( specific weight or gas oil density ) = 1.386 Gas Oil Litres 108.333 Kg x 0.2 % = 216 Oil Kg 216 g % 0.86 ( oil specific weight ) = 251 Oil Litres
ADHERENCE IMPROVER 5.200 Kg (BITALCO) * 1 % = 52 Adherene improver litres
MIXTURE PREPARATION
First add to Bitalco the Gas Oil, Oil and the Adherence
Improver, when this preparation is done add it to the stone at a 6,0 %
WARNING : the temperature of Bitalco ( asphaltic concrete should be between 80 and 90 centigrades as a top temperature, and the stone aggregate should not be more than 75 centigrades This is extremely important to obtain a successful result
Claims (1)
- CLAIMS 1 ) This is I ns an Instantaneous Road Filler and as its name says, it repairs a Breakage in any type of paving be it of Precast concrete or an Asphalted type of paving " IN A FEW MINUTES ". The Breakage or deep hole as we say in Argentina is repaired by placing in the deteriorated or Broken Zone, this cold MixtureS with only taking the simple precaution of cleaning well the Surface to be repaired with any kind of conventional Brush, and immediately the Instantaneous Road Filler is placed the later Traffic of passing vehicles is entrusted with compacting the mixture. For this reason the use of a Roller isnt't necessary Neither is it necessary to coat the hole or Broken Zone with any type of Asphaltic Watering of those diluted in Petrol that fulfils the function of alliance, between the paving to be repaired or the hole and the mixture of the Instantaneous Road Filler because of the Great Adhesicln that this repairer material possesses. Owing justly to this Great adhesion, even if the Area to be repaired is somewhat wets the Adhesion of the Instantaneous Road Filler will be perfect. With this Mixture it isn't necessary that the surface to be treated is completely dry.It is a Mixture that is prepared hot, the main ingredient is an Asphaltic concrete which hardens on cooling, a thing that doesn't happen on having the additional elements of the Formula and this " Instantaneous Repairer " Mixture can be used for pavings up to eight (8) Months after it has been prepared. It can be stored all this time indoors or in the open air. With the proceedure of fabrication of this mixture, the asphaltic concrete and the stone to be used in the asphaltic fabrication plant, must be at a temperature between 50 and 90 centigrade, as a top temperature in order not to burn the added chemicals that are aggregated to the Asphaltic concrete and you must be rigourously strict with the proportions that are detailed in the Formula also obeying the grading and its characteristics as described of the stony material to be used in order to get a correct mixture and be able to obtain excel lent results. The Instantaneous Road Filler makes all the process cheaper in repairing any type of paving, be it paved urban highways wide public Roads, AirstripsS Level Crossings and Roads used for every type of vehicle. Circulation by the large reduction of highway equipment and personnel that es necessary in the utilization of traditional Mixtures, this means it is economical by not having to use Asphaltic primers for allianceS with the Instantaneous Road Filler they aren't necessary.2 ) This product can be applied in high or low temperaures, that is to sayF in summer or in the middle of winter and it doesn't require expensive equipment or labour. Only a motor vehicle to transport the Mixture, 1 Brushes to clean the hole, 1 manual shovels, and with 2 workmen, you can repair any type of paving breakage in a few minutes..N As it isn't necessary to frame the hole in order that it doesn't displace itself, like when a traditional Mixture is used, with the use. of a Roller, Pneumatic Hammer and the 2 Workmen. Not having to enlarge the hole only the Mixture that is necessary is utilized 4 ) Once the Breakage to be repaired is swept, " WITHOUT PUTTING " in an Rsphaltic Alliance diluted in Petrol , the same hole is filled ed with the Mixture of the Instantaneous Road FillEr, leaving 1-2 cm above the surface of the Road level and it is opened to Traffic inmediately which will compact the Mixture to Road level.THE BREAKAGE IS ALREADY REPAIRED 5 As the repair requires only a few minutes it isn't necessary to make any deviation to redirect the traffic and when a Greater volume of passing vehicles pass over the repaired zone it will obtain density and hardness of the placed Mixture.6 ) The Instantaneous Road Filler does not stick on car tyres 7 ) If the hole to be repaired is very deep it could be filled with stone of a grading of approximately between i to 6 cnq leaving 5 cn at the top to cover with this instantaneous filler
