Abstract
The necktie assembly comprises a rigid knot-forming frame 10, a supporting member 20 and a tie member 30. The rigid frame is a Y-shaped and includes two collar attaching ends 101, a Velcro (RTM) spot 102 and a frame 104 defining a hole (103, Figs. 3 and 4) with a salient bead (105) therein. The supporting member 20 is slidably mounted in the hole (103) for selecting a suitable position where it is maintained by engagement of the bead (105) with rack 202. The lower end of the supporting member has an open slot 203 which, in use, is arranged to engage a shirt button. The tie member has a Velcro (RTM) spot 301 for cooperation with the spot 102. The spots 102, 301 may be omitted and instead slots (107, Figs. 7 and 8) are provided for securing the end of the tie member. The supporting member 20, instead of being slidable, may be rigid with the frame 10 and provided with a number of spaced slots (204, Figs. 9 and 10) for receiving a shirt button in an appropriate one of them. <IMAGE>
Description
Title : An Improvement for .R Fre-knotted Necktie
This invention relates to an improvement for a preknotted necktie. Apparently, necktie has been a decoration for the formal garment of a man; to wear a tie, the tie has to be knotted first. To knot a neck tie is deemed an art in our life, but a man must have sufficient to do it. For a modern busy man, to knot a tie is surely an other work pressure. As a result of the requirement of common courtesy, a man has to wear a necktie; therefore, a pre-knotted necktie has been developed.
There are various kinds of pre-Rnotted neckties, of which some use zipper to control the size of the knot opening; however, it is rather inconvenient to a user aside from feeling uncomfortable, and the knot of such tie is rather difficult to fizzy i.,e being susceptible to becoming loose. moreover, the slip knot portion of a coneentional necktie needs more material, and the zipper also causes higher manufacturing cost.
In view of the aforesaid drawbacks of , the conventional necktie, the inventor has developed a new necktie, of which the prime object is to simplify the structure, to save material, to save manpower; this invention mainly comprises a rigid frame, on which a pre-lçnotted tie is mounted; a user can quickly wear the necktie by simply puttying the rigid frame and a supporting member arouiid a shirt collar.
An embodiment of this invention is described by way of example with reference to the drawings in which: FIG.1 is a perspective view of embodiment-i according to the present invention.
FIG.2 is a plan view of the present invention, showing a rigid frame and a supporting member in embodiment-1.
FIG.3 is a sectional view of the rigid frame aiid the supporting member of embodiment-i.
FIG.4 is an enlarged view of a part of FIG.3.
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a pre-l.notted necktie according to embodiment-i.
FIG.G is a front vie of the pre-knotted necktie according to embodiment-1, being worn by a person.
FIG. 7 is a perspective view of embodiment- according to the present invention.
FIG.8 is a plan view of embodiment according to the present invention.
FIG. 9 is a plan view of embodiment-3 according to the present invention.
FIG.10 is a sectional view of embodiment-3 according to the present invention.
Referring to FIG.1, the embodiment-1 according to lhe present invention comprises a rigid frame 10, n suppording member 20, and a tie portion 30. The rigid frame 10 (as shown in FIGs.2 and 3) is designed into a Shaped member made of a flexible plastic material; the two top ends of the rigid frame are two collar attaching ends 101, under which there are two tie-mounting portions 106; the joint part of the tie
mounting portions has a \'elerotspot 102; below the velcro spot 102, there is a hole frame 104 with a square hole 103, in which a salient bead 105 is furnished at one side (as shown in FIG.4).The supporting member 20 is substantially a flat rectangular strip, which has a stop flange "01 on the top thereof, a tooth portion 202 on side, and an open slot 203 at the lower end thereof. The tie member 30 is almost similar to a conventional necktie, except being slightly
short and having a elcrolspot 301 on the top thereof.
The supporting member 20 is to be mated with the square hole 103 of the rigid frame 10; the tooth portion ?0'-' is in contact with the salient bead 10o so as to enable the supporting member 20 to be slid and set at a given position.
The tie member 30 is attached to the rigid frame 10 by means
of a velcrdlspot 301 thereof to be fastened with a velcro spot 102 on the rigid frame 10, and then mount a tie member around the tie-mounting portion 106 of the rigid frame 10 with a knot; the necktie looks like a tie already knotted in place (as shown in FIG.5). In real use, the necktie can be attacked to a collar of a shirt b means of the collar attaching end 101 of the rigid frame 10, and by putting the open slot 203 of the supporting member 20 around and behind the first button of the shirt; such a necktie can quick and easily be put in place by a user because of the features of the rigid frame 10 and the supporting member 20 without really knotting the tie; further, a user would feel as comfortable as using a conventional necktie; the omission of the slipknot portion of a necktie would save a lot of material in making a tie, and such a necktie would also omit a zipper, i.e., to reduce the manufacturing cost thereof.
Referring to FIGs.7 and 8, the embodiment-2 according to the present invention has a rigid frame 10, which has an open slot 10; in the tie-mounting portion 10tri; the open slot 10 is used for holding the tie member 30 in place without
slipping off so as to save from using the Velcro kspots 102 and 301 on the rigid frame 10 and the tie member 30 respectively, i.e., to simplify the structure of the necktie according to the present invention.Apparently, the sliding function provided by means of the salient bead 105 in the square hole 103 and the tooth portion 02 on the supporting member 20 may be replaced with other means which can furnish retractable and sliding function. Referring to FIGs.9 and 10, the embodiment-3 according to the present invention kas an integral piece formed with the rigid frame 10 and the supporting member 20, i.e., the supporting member 20 has no way to put through a square hole 103 in a sliding and retractable manner as that in the previous embodiment. The supporting member 20 has several slot holes 204 (which may be rectangular, or round, or other shaped holes), which each can mount on a bottom of shirt to replace the function of the supporting member 20; a user can select a suitable slot hole 204 to serve the purpose so as to replace the sliding and retractable function. In order to provide a smooth button function, the top edge of the slot hole 204 has an inward salient bead (as shown in FIG.10) to furnish such function.
