Abstract

A self-watering hanging basket merchandiser has a number of crooked tubes (part a) fixed into a base (part b). The crooked tubes allow the planted hanging baskets to be suspended from them. The same crooked tubes carry individual small guage branch pipes which are directly connected to the main feed pipe (part d) which s subsequently connected to a water system. <IMAGE>

Description

SELF-WATERING HANGING BASKET MERCHANDISER Hanging baskets are containers used in which to grow plants and are hung from buildings as part of living decoration. These planted baskets require regular watering particularly whilst being held in stock by the retailer. The retailers have problems displaying them in a manner which has appeal to the consumer, and yet allows the public to make their selection and the retailer to operate a self-service hanging basket retailing system.
The self-watering hanging basket merchanidser can be connected to a domestic water supply. The feed from that supply serves branch pipes which subsequently feed each of the baskets which are suspended on crooked tubes. The tubes allow for the hanging baskets to be hung from them and for the branch feed pipe to supply water directly into the basket.
There is a series of pipes at a variety of heights which allows a high density of product on a limited amount of space.

Claims (6)

  1. CLAIMS 1. A self-watering hanging basket merchandiser means that planted hanging baskets can be offered for sale by self-service technique at a height and in a form which allows the public to make their selections and serve themselves because the product is offered for sale at a height that allows them to do so.
  2. 2. A self-watering hanging basket merchandiser can be connected to a domestic water supply1 that supply turned on and each individual basket receives individual watering.
  3. 3. A self-watering hanging basket merchandiser allows hanging baskets to be displayed in such a form that they are attractive and appealing for consumers to purchase.
  4. 4. A self-watering hanging basket merchandiser can be lined from one to another to provide a complete department in a retail environment.
  5. 5. A self-watering hanging basket merchandiser can be used single-sided or double sided, as a merchandising stand.
  6. 6. A self-watering hanging bakset merchandiser is of a size that allows it to be moved around a retail environment thus allowing flexibility display.
