Description
DUSTER FOR A BLACKBOARD
This invention relates to a duster, more
particularly but not exclusively to a duster for cleaning a blackboard.
Said duster can clean a blackb9,ard more effectively than existing dusters.
A conventional blackboard duster includes a rectangular wooden piece on which a wiping strip is attached adhesively. While wiping a blackboard, tiny particles of dirt will fall off from the blackboard, thereby polluting the surrounding atmosphere. The polluted atmosphere in a classroom will, in the long run, affect the health of students.
At a time when environmental pollution is taken
seriously into account, it is highly desirous from a
hygiene point of view to provide a new duster which can accumulate the falling tiny particles of dirt from the blackboard,
According to the present invention there is provided a duster for wiping a blackboard including a rectangular -casing having a top side and a bottom side. A wiping surface with a plurality of spaced holes therethrough is provided on the top side by a known manner.
A permeable bag is provided in the casing underneath the wiping surface. A filter means is provided in the casing adjacent to the permeable bag. A suction means is also provided in the casing adjacent to the filter means. The particles of dirt are collected by suction means into the bag installed in the duster.
Other features and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent in the following detailed description, including drawings, all of which show a non-limiting form of t,Ae invention, and of which:
Figure 1 is an exploded view of a duster of the present invention.
Figure 2 is a perspective, schematic view of the duster of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a cross sectional view of the duster of Figure 1.
Figure 4 demonstrates the duster of the present invention in operation.
Referring to Figure 1, a duster of the present invention is shown to comprise a casing 10 including a wiping means 20, an accumulating bag 22, a filter means 30 and a suction means 40. The casing 10 has a top side and a bottom side. The top side has a first opening 11, a second opening 12 and a third opening 15.
A wiping means 20 includes a plate 21 with a plurality of tiny spaced holes 212 therethrough and a wiping surface 211, generally of a bristled type, attached thereto adhesively or mechanically. The lower portion 213 of the plate 21 has a recess 214 to which an elastic free end of an air-permeable bag 22 is attached. The wiping means 20 is then placed onto the first opening 11 of the casing 10.
The filter means 30 including a box 31 with an opening 311 and a plurality of filter sheets 32 disposed in the box 31, is provided in the second opening 12 of the casing 10 and iS detachably cored, so that the filter sheets 32 can be replaced whenever necessary. The third opening 15 is formed as a recess adapted to store filter sheets therein and is detachably covered by a lid 16.
The lower portion of the third opening 15 has a hollow tube 14 including a first end in communication with the opening 311 of the box 31 and a second perforated end extending out from the casing 10. A suction means 40, such as an exhaust fan, is disposed in the hollow tube 14. The casing 10 also has a cell means 41 electrically connected to the suction means 40 and a switch 42 to actuate the suction means 40.
When using such a duster to wipe a blackboard with the switch on, tiny particles of dust will be sucked through the wiping means 20. The dust will be collected in the air-permeable bag 22 due to the suction means. In order that the suction means 40 is not disturbed from functioning properly, a plurality of filter sheets 32 is disposed in the box 31, which will purify the air passing through, as shown in Figure 4.
Claims (5)
