Abstract

A member (11) is mounted on a base board (10) by means of a centre pivot (12) allowing the member to rotate in either direction. Both member and board are divided into sections containing part of a picture or sequence of symbols. Preferred is a cut-away in the member through which the parts of the picture or sequence of symbols on the board below can be viewed. It is also preferred that only at one stage in a full revolution of the member will each individual section form a complete picture or sequence of symbols, whilst all other section are out of alignment. The device can be used in combination with a die and a pack of cards showing complete pictures. <IMAGE>

Description

RELATED PICTURE/SmiBOL GAME This invention relates to a game having a movable member mounted on a board.
Some games have moving parts and in certain cases employ the use of moving members.
It is in the way the pictures and symbols on the member relate to the pictures and symbols on the board that makes this game unique.
According to the invention, there is provided a game comprising a board (A) or means of representing a board. A member (B) movable relative to the board and movably mounted on the board. The moving member can move into a position that allows the corresponding pictures or symbols to be aligned to those on the board, thus completing a picture or sequence of symbols. (A) & (B) having a plurality of picture or symbol marked thereon. (B) having (in preference) a cut-away, the area therebeneath to be viewed.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by the way of example with reference to he accompanying drawing in which : FIGURE (1) Shows a birds-teye-view of the game with the member in a position a few degrees before the section ref: No 31 29 fits together to form a complete picture or sequence of symbols.
FIGURE (2) Shows a birds-eye-view of the game. The member has moved those few degrees, and is seen in the correct position at section ref; 31 29 to form a complete picture or sequence of symbols.
FIGURE (3) Shows a side view of the game illustrating how the member is mounted to the board.
FIGURE:. (4) Shows the member minus the cut-away areas.
Reffering to the drawing (Figure 1.) The game comprises a board (iso) on which a movable member (11) is mounted0 The preference is for the member to be in the form of a disc, employing a centre pivot (12). Both member and board are divided into sections by radial lines (15). The preference being for the individual sections to be of equal size, varying sizes could be employed. Sections on both board and member contain part of a picture or alternatively a sequence of symbols.
The preference is for corresponding parts of a picture or symbols to be aligned at one section and stage within one revolution of the member, whilst the remaining sections are out of alignment. Provision can be made for the following:- (a) any number of sections. (b) varying sizes of sections. (c) varying number of sections in alignment at a given time. (d) varying number of sections out of alignment at a given time.
(Figure 1) shows a picture of a balloon just about to line up to form a complete picture. The player has thrown a six on the die and has moved the member six sections in a clockwise direction from section ref: No 5 29. (Figure 2) shows the move completed, both picture and ref: No 32 29 form the completed section. The player holding the card which replicates the picture or sequence of symbols in the completed section, will at this stage gain points. The construction of the member (figure 3) is composed, in preference, of three parts (11a 11b & 11c.) Both (Ila & 11b) are joined together by a clear transparent film (1 it).
Alternatives to this would be:- (a) employ a number of spokes, (t6) indicates the way the spoke joins the outer (11b) and the inner (11 a) parts of the member.
(b) not to have any cut-away sections, the parts of the pictures and the sequence of symbols being on the perimeter of the member, relating to the parts of the Pictures and sequence of symbols on the board (figure 4).
A variation of the game could be achieved by the introduction of more than one layer of transparent fjlm, each having part of a picture or symbol on them and moving in different directions.

Claims (1)

  1. (1) A game comprising a member attached to a board by means of a centre pivot. Both the member and board being divided into equal sections by radial lines which determine the size of the individual sections0 Whatever the amount or size of the sections, they are required to be of equal proportion to each other. Each section on both the member and board are formed by part of a picture or a symbol. At one point in a complete revolution of the member a complete picture or sequence of symbols will be aligned in only one individual section at a time, the preference being that all the other sections will be out of alignment at this point.
    (2) A game as claimed in claim (1) where provision is made for a member to rotate by means of a centre pivot.
    (3) A game as claimed in claim (1) or claim (2) where the member and board are divided into equal sections by radial lines.
    (4) A game as claimed in claim (2) or claim (3) where each of the sections on the member have symbols or part of a picture which relate to symbols or part of a picture on the board.
    (5) A game as claimed in claim (4) where the preference is at one stage in a full revolution of the member, each individual section forms a complete picture or sequence of symbols at a given time whilst all the other sections will be unaligned.
    (6) A game as claimed in claim (5) where symools and parts of pictures on the board beneath can be viewed through cut-away areas in the member.
    (7) A game as claimed in claim (5) where a player gains points by possessing the card which replicates that of the completed picture or sequence of symbols composed by the correct alignment of a section formed by the member and board0 (8) A game substantially as described herein with reference to figures ( 1 to 3 ) of the drawings submitted with the patent application dated ~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ 7 thy 1991, Ref: 9109843-4 RELATED PICTURE/SYEBOL GAME
