Hourly Urinometer Technical field This invention is related to an equipment which can measure urine output of a patient every hour automatically.

Background Every doctor is familiar with that urine production is one of the important phenomenon for good health.In a critically ill patient urine output is a good indicator of the state of his general circulation and kidney function.

This simple device can give an account of hourly urine output without manual interference.

It can also be used in assessing the action of various drugs on the production of other body excretions or excretion e.g bile,gastric juice etc.

Essential technical features According to the present invention there is a clock which moves the filling chambers.Urine drops through the nozzle.One filling caber remains under the nozzle for one hour and then replaced by the next one.XsiS There is a clock face with indicator needle to mark the starting time.There is an alarm system which goes off after all the chambers complete their turn.

   TITLE TIMED URINOMETRE 1. A timed urinometre is claimed as a simple but useful device which can measure patient,s hourly urine output automatically without frd -uent mannual assistance.
2. 2. There are hourly urinometre available but they are simply measuring chambers which needs mannual assistance every hour.
3. 3. As claimed in claim 1 the device is automatic,as it can record twelve to twentyfour hour hourly urine output without mannual assistance.

It is claimed as automatic because of a simple scientific device.A clock,which moves the filling chambers below the urine dropping nozzel every hour.One chamber stays and collects the urine from the nozzel for one hour and is then replaced by another chamber quickly. The capacity of the chambers can be made according to the need.
5. 5. It is claimed that the presence of an alarm makes the attendant aware that the chambers need changing.
6. 6. As claimed in claim 4 the device can operate by mains or by batteries.

   It Itis claimed that the above invention has two major parts.Th#e base unit containing the clock and the alarm .The top unit,made of filling chambers in a plastic cover with nozzel.The upper unit fits on top of the base and can be easily removed.
