Abstract

A bust of an individual is produced by recreating the features of the individual on a visual display unit in a three-dimensional drawing. This information is then transferred via machine code, to a manipulating machine 12. The machine presents a dummy bust 10 to the cutting tool 13 which cuts the features of the subject in the dummy bust. Therefore producing the likeness of the subject in the dummy bust. <IMAGE>

Description

INDIVIDUAL BUST This invention relates to the manufacturing of a bust with individual features.
The manufacturing of a bust has been produced by hand before and if further busts of the same features are required, a mould can be taken off the master bust. Where this mould can be used to reproduce the original bust.
Manufacture can be done by use of hand or power tools.
Time to manufacture one individual bust with individual bust with individual features can be considerable and therefore uneconomical to attempt mass production of the individual busts.
According to the present invention a dummy bust is fixed on a machine bed, the features of any individual are drawn onto a visual display unit. This information from the visual display unit is translated into machine code, allowing manipulation of the machine bed (together with the dummy bust) in respect of the cutting tool, the bed manipulates the bust, (following the drawing from the visual display unit) against the cutting tool.
This invention is now described by use of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows a dummy bust (10) Figure 2 shows individual features reproduced on the visual display unit (11) Figure 3 illustrates the dummy bust (10) positioned fixed to the bed (12) presenting the dummy bust (10) to the cutting tool (13).
Figure 4 illustrates the finished bust.
Reference Figure 1:- the dummy bust (10) has been produced by, taking a mould off the original bust and then reproducing the original.
Figure 2:- the features of any individual are drawn onto the visual display unit (11).
Figure 3:- the dummy bust is fixed onto the machine bed (12) and the bed presents the dummy to the cutting tool (13).
Figure 4:- illustrates the finished bust after machining has been completed and showing the individuals features (14).

Claims (2)

1. The individual bust has the features of any individual which has been drawn on the visual display unit. The manipulating machine, manipulates the dummy bust, in respect of the cutting tool and therefore reproduces the drawing made on the visual display unit, creating a bust of any individuals features.
2. The likeness of any individual can be reproduced in the finished bust.
3, The details of any individuals features can be reproduced by using this method.
