Abstract

The disposable pet faeces shovel has a leak proof, wedge shaped collapsable outer casing, with two tapered shovels. The shovels serve as a means of collecting the faeces off the floor, the shape of the enclosed compartment is designed to give minimal fouling of the outer casing when inserting it into the outer casing. The outer case acts as a means of securing the shovels until the package is disposed of accordingly. All parts are made from a biodegradeable material ensuring a healthier environment. <IMAGE>

Description

DISPOSABLE PET FAECES SIIOVEL This invention relates to a disposable pet faeces shovel.
The existing products for the removal of pet waste from the ground rely heavily upon moulded plastic scoops and shovels, whereby a plastic bag is introduced to cover the device before the faeces can be collecttl. Once collected the plastic bag serves as a wrapping for the waste until it is disposed of accordingly.
The existing products are, however, relatively unhygienic, because of the procedure used, by scraping the plastic bag along the ground, flich Z.ay result in the tearing of the bag, thus fouling the exterior of tlie device. Moreover they are bulky and are not designed to be disposable.
According to the present invention there are three essential parts, comprising a leak proof, collapsable, wedge shaped outer casing and two tapered, collapsable shovels, one of which is slightly larger than the other. The shovels have been specifically designed to locate within tlie outer casing when the device is in both its collapsed and erect state.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example witli reference to the accompanying drawings in which : FIGURE 1 - shows in perspective the collapsed casing, enclosing the two folded shovels as illustrated in Figures 2 and 3.
FIGURE 2 - illustrates the smaller folded shovel.
FIGURE 3 - illustrates the larger folded shovel.
FIGURE 4 - shows in perspective partial assembly of a shovel.
FIGURE 5 - illustrates the larger shovel and smaller shovel forming the encasing wedge.
FIGURE 6 - illustrates the erected outer casement.
Referring to the drawings of the device, it consists primarily of three collapsable parts, a leak proof, wedge shaped outer casing FIG 1, and two collapsable tapered shovels, one being slightly larger as shown in FIGS 2 and 3.
In order to use the device the two shovels are removed from inside the collapsed outer casing as shown in FIG 1. Both shovels are then assembled as illustrated in FIG 4. After manipulating the pet lasses onto the larger shovel it is then encased by placing the smaller s6.)7el on top as per FIG 5.
The collapsed outer case is then assembled into a rigid configuration as shown in FIG 6. The two shovels forming the wedge shaped compartment is then located into the outer casing to complete the disposable package.

Claims (4)

1. A disposable pet faececshovel comprising a wedge shaped, collapsable, leak proof outer casing encloses two different sized, tapered, collapsable shovels, which allow for the ease of remov ing pet faeces from the ground. The outer casing thenserves as a secure casing for the shovels until the package is disposed of accordingly.
2. The disposable pet faece shovel as claimed in Claim t wherein sedge shaped provides the allowance of an adequate capacity within the enclosing shovels and provides a secure encasement once the tapered shovels are inserted within the wedge shaped outer casing.
3. The disposable pet faece shovel as claimed in Claim 1 and 2 therein tapered provides a wider aperture on the outer casing, cooporable with the narrower leading edge of the enclosing shovels to enable ease of location with minimal external fouling.
4. The disposable pet faece shovel as claimed in Claim 2 and 3 wherein lock tabs means are provided to ensure rigidity to the collapsable shovels on assembly.
