Abstract
A clear or coloured full or half-faced visor with a hinged clip-on frame e.g. the visor moulded from clear or coloured polycarbonate or material which absorbs the suns rays (1) with a moulded nose bridge (3). The visor is attached to a hinged clip-on frame (4) by means of screws at points (2). The full-faced visor has moulded protective sides (6) with added protection above spectacle frame (7) in addition a full faced visor has breathing holes (5). The visor with hinged clip-on frames attached will, when worn clipped to spectacles allow the visor to be worn down across the spectacles and face in a protective mode or raised up/horizontally in a clear view mode. <IMAGE>
Description
CLEAR OR COLOURED HALF OR FULL FACED
MOULDED VISOR FITTED TO A HINGED CLIP-ON FRAME
This invention reZates to a clear or contoured half or fuZZ faced visor moulded from PoZycarbonate fitted to a hinged ctip-on frame for use with spectacZes.
Hinged clip-on sungZasses with individuaZ Zenses for each eye of dark coZoured plastic or glass or speciaZised protective material are worn as protection against the harmfuZ effects of the sun's rays or bright Zight by peopte who wear spectacles/glasses to improve their sight. Hinged cTip-on sungtasses can be raised to the horizontal position if the wearer enters a building moving out of direct sunlight or if the sun is obscured by cloud. Hinged cTip-on sungZasses give flexibility over ordinary unhinged cZip-on sunglasses which have to be put on and taken off according to variations in Zight intensity which affects the wearer's sight.Hinged cZip-on sungZasses are onZy of use as a protection against the sun's rays or bright Zight.
At present, there is not a clear or coloured half or fuZZ faced visor attached to a hinged ctip-on frame for use clipped to spectacles on the market. The visor will give protection to the wearer's spectacles and part face against a variety of potentiaZ hazards.
According to the present invention, a clear or coloured half or fuZZ faced protective visor moulded from PoZycarbonate or speciatised protective materials of lmm thickness attached to a hinged ctip-on frame for use by people who wear spectacles to improve their sight: the visor is worn clipped to the spectacles at the spectacles/glasses nose bridge point by the hinged cTip-on frame. In its protective mode, the visor is worn in the down across the spectacZes and face position, protecting the spectacles, nose and cheeks of the wearer.A clear view mode is achieved by Zifting the visor on the cltp-on hinge to a horizontaZ or up position. Half-faced clear visors wiZZ give protection against:- rain, dirt, dust and a variety of potential hazardous flying objects. A fuZZ-faced clear visor wiZZ give added protection to the fuZZ face. A coloured or specialised dark materiaZ haff-faeed visor wiZZ give protection against the sun's harmfuZ ultra-viotet rays.
A specific embodiment of the invention wiZZ now be described by way of example with referance to the accompanying drawings in which:
FIGURE 2 shows a haTf-face clear moulded visor with rounded corners indicating the fixing points for the hinged cZip-on frames fatso indicating the section moulded to bridge the nose.
FIGURE 2 shows front on view of a half-face clear moulded visor with rounded corners without the ctip-on frame attached showing the moulded nose bridge with the visor bent towards the face from either side of the nose bridge.
FIGURE 3 shows a rectangular half-face clear moulded visor indicating the fixing points for a hinged clip-on frame also indicating the section moulded to fit the nose.
FIGURE 4 illustrates a haTf-face clear moulded visor with part curved corners fitted with a hinged cZip-on frame set in the horizontal mode indicating the ctip-on frame fixing points.
FIGURE 5 illustrates a haTf-face clear moulded visor with part curved corners fitted with a hinged cTip-on frame set in the down across the face mode indicating the cZip-on frame's fixing points.
FIGURE 6 shows a fuZZ-faced clear moulded visor in face shape with moulded protective sides and inward stanting forehead fitting indicating the nose bridge, protective sides, forehead fitting and mouth vent holes.
FIGURE 7 shows an end on view of a fult-face clear mouZded visor showing moulded side protection indicating the moulded top edge fit to the forehead illustrating the nose bridge mouZding with air vents.
FIGURE 8 illustrates the haTf-face cZear moulded visor with a hinged ctip-on frame attached clipped to spectacles in the down across the face protective mode.
FIGURE 9 iZZustrates the haTf-face cZear moutded visor with a hinged ctip-on frame attached clipped to spectacles in the up horizontal clear view mode.
Referring to the drawings the visor comprises a 2mm thick moulded PoZycarbonate haTf-face cover (1), a hinged ctip-on frame (4) attached to the visor by screws at points (2) To allow the visor a close fit over glasses and face, a nose bridge (3) has been moulded at between 10-15mm maximum height 65mm across at the point of the nose tapering back and flattening towards the eyes.
FIGURES 4 d5 illustrate haTf-face visors with hinged ctip-on frames fitted. In
Figure 4 the visor is shown in up horizontal cZear view mode. Figure 5 shows the visor in the down across face protective mode.
FIGURE 6 illustrates a fuZZ faced cZear moulded visor with moulded nose
(3),anti-misting breathing hoZes (5), protective moulded sides (6) and snug" inward formed mouZded forehead fitting (71.
FIGURE 7 illustrates a futt-faced cZear moutded visor in the up horizontal mode without a ctip-on frame attached, showing nose bridge moulding with air vents (3), moutded side protectors (6) inward formed snug forehead fitting (7).
FIGURES 8 & 9 illustrate a hatf-faced clear moulded visor with hinged cTip-on frames fitted attached to spectacles. Figure 8 shows the visor in the down across the face protective mode. Figure 9 shows the visor in the up/horizontaZ clear view mode.
