Abstract
For receiving the audio frequency signal of a television set, a wireless television headphone set is provided, comprising a radio transmitter 1 inserted in the earphone jack 3 of a television set to convert its audio frequency signal into a radio signal for transmitting through a transmitting antenna so that one or more persons can simultaneously receive the audio frequency program of the television set through a headphone type radio receiver 2 each of which receives the radio signal and converts it into corresponding audio frequency signal. <IMAGE>
Description
WIRELESS TELEVTSION HEADPHONE SET
The present invention relates to headphones, and more particularly relates to a wireless headphone set for receiving the audio signal transmitted through a transmitter inserted in the earphone jack or connected to the output terminal of an audio equipment of a television set.
A television set generally has an earphone jack for insertion therein of a earphone or headphone so that one can hear the voice from a television set clearly without interfering with the others while watching the TV program.
However, an earphone or headphone is not practical for two or more persons to use at the same time. Further, because an earphone or headphone is to be connected to the earphone jack of a television set through a cable, one can not move away from a television set within the range confined by the cable uhen an earphone or headphone is put on the head. Because of the aforesaid disadvantages, few people would like to wear an earphone to receive the audio frequency signal provided by a television set while watching the TV program.
The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a wireless television headphone set uhich can receive the audio frequency signal of a television set at a remote location through a radio transmitter and receiver set. It is another object of the present invention to provide a wireless television headphone set which can be used by several persons at the same time.
It is still another object of the present invention to provide a wireless television headphone set which can be adjusted in volume according to individual's preference.
An embodiment of the present invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Fig. 1 is a schematic drawing illustrating the arrangement of the preferred embodiment of the present invent ion;
Fig. 2 illustrates the block diagram of the transmitter and the headphone of the preferred embodiment of the present invention; and
Fig. 3 is a schematic drawing illustrating that various headphones are separately used for receiving the audio signal of the same television set.
Referring to the various drawings attached herewith, a detailed description of the structural features of "Wireless Television Headphone Set" of the present invention is as follows:
Referring to Fig. 1, a wireless television headphone set in accordance with the present invention is generally comprised of a radio transmitter 1 and at lest a headphone type radio receiver 2. The radio transmitter 1 is to be inserted in the earphone jack of a television set to transmit the audio signal of said television set to the radio headphone type radio receiver 2. Therefore, a person who wears the headphone type radio receiver 2 can hear the program of the television set within the effective range.
Referring to Fig. 2, in the circuit block diagram of the radio transmitter 1, the audio signal from the earphone jack of a television set is sent to an oscillator circuit 12, to which working voltage is supplied from a power supply 11, from which the output signal is amplified through a power amplifier circuit 13 so as to produce a FM carrier signal of certain frequency for transmitting through a transmitting antenna 14.In the circuit block diagram of the headphone type radio receiver 2, the FM carrier signal transmitted through the radio transmitter 1 is received by a receiving antenna 14' for detection through a medium frequency amplifier circuit 22 and a detector 23, to which the working voltage is supplied by a power supply 21, from which the output signal is sent to an audio frequency amplifier 24 for amplification and for further output through a headphone 26 via a volume control circuit 25.
Referring to Fig. 3, after the radio transmitter 1 is inserted in the earphone jack 3 of a television set, one can put the headphone type radio receiver 2 on the head to receive the audio frequency output signal of said television set while watching the screen of said television set so as to eliminate outside noise and prevent from interfering with the others. While one is working at a place where the television set is out of one's sight, one can still enjoy the
TV program by hearing the audio frequency transmitted through the radio transmitter 1. As shown in the drawings, several sets of headphone type radio receivers 2 can be simultaneously used by several persons for receiving the same audio program. Every one can adjust the volume according to one's preference without interfering with other persons' preference in volume.
The present invention can also be used for receiving the audio signal output of video tape player, stereo receiver, tape recorder as well as other audio equipment.
Claims (3)
1. A wireless television headphone set, comprising:
a radio transmitter having a plug for inserting in the earphone jack of a television get or connecting to the output terminal of audio equipment to convert the audio frequency signal provided thereby into a radio signal for transmitting through a transmitting antenna; and
a headphone type radio receiver for receiving said radio signal and converting it into audio frequency signal.
2. The wireless television headphone set of claim 1, wherein said headphone type radio receiver comprises a volume control for regulating the loudness of said audio frequency signal.
3. A wireless television headphone set substantially as herein before described with reference to, and as illustrated in, the accompanying drawings.
