Abstract

225,129. Arthur, P. May 21, 1924. Saxophones, &c. - A mouthpiece for saxophones and like instruments consists of two inner pieces secured together and encased in a moulded covering. The inner pieces 8, 9 are of metal, the piece 8 being formed on an automatic screw machine or by die casting, and the part 9, which has a non- circular bore, by die casting. The parts 8, 9 are screwed together at 10, a groove 12 being formed between them into which, as well as into a groove 11, the moulded outer covering 13 of Bakelite, rubber or celluloid, enters. The reed 16 is held by an ordinary ligature 14.
