Abstract

A pond protection kit consists of a series of wires surrounding the pond and interconnected by crocodile clips 11. A power box 12 provides a low pulse of 6 volts, at regular one second intervals around the electrical animal fencing wire. Animal predators venturing over or into the water receive an electrical shock as deterrent only. <IMAGE>

Description

POND PROTECTION KIT.
This invention relates to a pond protection kit in respect of the protection of any kind of pond against animal or bird predators.
It is difficult to protect, inexpensively, a pond containing valuable fish from small predators. Sometimes netting is used, therefore spoiling a picturesque effect, or continual vigilance is required.
According to this present invention, there is provided a pond protection kit, comprising a power box to electrify animal fencing wire, the wire being supported by either insulated and waterproofed met supports. or heavy duty moulded plastic supports, to give 24 hour protection without harm to predators or surrounding pond wildlife.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows the wire support, which can be made of metal, waterproofed and fitted with insulation washers (10), or heavy duty moulded plastic; Figure 2 shows the support inserted into the ground at the edge of the pond, and threaded with animal fencing wire; Figure 3 shows the circuits complete, and linked with crocodile clips (11); Figure 4 shows the connection to the power box (12).
Referring to the drawing, the wire support comprises a right-angled bracket with six rings. If the support is made of metal, it is painted with waterproofing paint and the rings fitted with insulation washers (10).
If the support is made of heavy duty plastic, the washers are not necessary.
The wire support is inserted into the ground as shown in Fig. 2. Several more, depending upon the size of the pond, are inserted at regular intervals around the pond.
The animal fencing wire is then threaded through the bottom ring on each support all the way round the pond and then tied off. This operation is repeated through each remaining ring as illustrated in Figs 2. and 3.
Crocodile clips (11) are then used to link each circuit as in Fip. 3.
The power box in then connected in Fig 4., which when switched on, will send a pulse of 6 volts around the wire, every second.

CLAIMS.
1. A pond protection kit comprising a power box to electrify an unspecified length of animal fencing wire, the wire being formed into a circuit linked by crocodile clips, supported by an unspecified number of either waterproofed and insulated metal, or heavy duty moulded plstic, supports, which are manually pushed into the ground.
2. A pond protection kit substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1-4 of the accompanying drawings.
AMENDMENTS TO THE CLAIMS HAVE BEEN FILED AS FOLLOWS 1. A pond protection kit comprising a power box to electrify an unspecified length of animal fencing wire, the wire being formed into a circuit linked by crocodile clips, supported by an unspecified number of either waterproofed and insulated metal, or heavy duty moulded plastic, supports, which are manually pushed into the ground.
2. A pond protection kit as claimed in Claim 1, wherein each waterproofed and insulated metal, or heavy duty plastic, support is of right-angled construction; thereby enabling the said support, when manually pushed into the ground, to suspend an unspecified length of animal fencing wire, (formed into a circuit linked by crocodile clips), above the surface of the pond water.
3. A pond protection kit substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1-4 of the accompanying drawings.
