Abstract

An electromagnetic device, in particular a solenoid contactor for controlling domestic electric heaters, comprises a frame (22), a double wound latching solenoid (18) surrounding a plunger (32), and a permanent magnet (20) which is disposed outside the winding at the end from which the plunger protrudes. The device may include a high current contactor (12) and a low current contactor, and may be operated by coded radio signals.
