Abstract

224,479. Fleming, J. G. July 9, 1924. Coating-appliances, hand. - A device for gumming labels and wrappers comprises a gum receptacle 11 having openings at its lower end through which gum is fed to the labels 9. The receptacle 11 is loosely and slidably attached to a post 5, pivoted at 4, so that the receptacle may be swung out of its operative position, as shown in Fig. 4. The post 5 is held in the vertical position by the engagement of a spring-pressed ball 7 with a hole in the lug 3. The labels &c. are held in position by adjustable guides 10, 16 and the receptacle rests on them under gravity.
