Abstract

A boat salvage float (B.S.F.) consists of a buoy 1, light 7, transponder 9, extra strong lightweight line 3, plus a reel 4 placed in a container which in turn will be fixed to the boat. The float enables the boat to be found quickly plus mark the position. This will make it easy to recover, or establish which boat has sunk. Floats will have the number and name of the boat attached so that when found, they will be able to check the registration details. <IMAGE>

Description

BOAT SALVAGE FLOAT This invention relates to a Boat Salvage Float.
A Boat Salvage Float (B.S.F.) will enable the boat to be found quickly plus mark the position. This will make it easy to recover, or establish which boat has sunk. Floats will have the number and name of the boat attached so that when found, they will be able to check the registration details.
The float will consist of a buoy, light, transponder, extra strong lightweight line, plus a reel placed in a container which in turn will be fixed to the boat.
Referring to the Drawing: Buoy (1) with name and number of boat, fits into (2) a container big enough to take buoy (1). The container is bolted or screwed to the boat (6). Inside container (2) is a line (3) connected to buoy (1).
The other end of line.(3) is connected to a reel (4). The reel is on a spindle (5) fitted inside container (2), so when boat sinks the float will rise to the top of the water giving the position of the boat (6) underwater. To help locate Boat Salvage Float (1) a flashing light (7) and transponder (9) will be operated when in contact with the water.
Figure 1. shows in perspective, the Boat Salvage Float in position fixed to the boat.
Figure 2 illustrates in section the Boat Salvage Float in position connected by the line to the spindle.
Figure 3. shows the operation of the float on the water surface still attached to the submerged boat.

Claims (2)

  1. CLAIM
The Boat Salvage FZoat automaticaZZy reZeases itseZf 1. from its container
  2. 2. upon submergence in water. This aZZows the precise positioning of the submerged vessel to be pZotted either by sight using the Zight 7 which automaticaZZy iZZuminates upon contact with water or by navigational aids using the transponder 9 within the buoy 1. which automatically upon contact with water sends out a distress signaZ on an emergency frequency.
