Abstract

A sensor or sensors, which may be separate or part of the body or the body of the vehicle, detects the approach of another body or vehicle. A control circuit 2, which may be in part or whole outside or inside of the vehicle or incorporated in an entertainments unit, gives warning via tone or light 3, at a set distance. <IMAGE>

Description

VEHiCLE PARKING AID This invention relates to a distance detector system for use particularly but not necessarily in motor vehicles.
One of the problems encountered by the driver of a motor vehicle stems from the fact that it is difficult to judge the distance to another vehicle when reversing due to restricted vision, as in parking.
Various mechanical devices have been used in the past but proved unsatisfactory.
The present invention is directed to a distance alarm which provides a warning of the approach to another parked vehicle.
Accordingly this invention provides a distance detection system comprising of a sensor, a high frequency oscillator, and a receiver or a combined oscillator/receiver unit connected to an alarm.
This invention is illustrated but not restricted by the following drawing which shows one preferred form of the system.
The system shown generally as number 1 comprises a sensor which may be a single or double foil or metal strip across the rear of the vehicle.
The vehicle body may also be the sensor.
The system includes a control box 2 The system includes a light or tone alarm 3 The invention may also serve as a vehicle protection device giving warning if anyone touches the vehicle.

Claims (5)

1. A VEHICAL PARKING AID COMPRISING OF A PROXIMITY DETECTOR SYSTEM, A SENSOR OR SENSORS ON TRE REAR OF THE VEHICAL DETECTS THE PROXIMITY OF AN OTHER VEHICAL BY MEANS OF AN INDUCTIVE OR CAPACITIVE EFFECT.
2. A VEHICAL PARKING AID WITH A CONTROL CIRCUIT WHICH MAY BE INCLUDED IN AN ENTERTAINMENTS SYSTEN OR PART OF WHICH NOT BE INSIDE THE VEHICAL CONNECTS TO THE SENSORS.
3. A VEHICAL PARKING AID WITH A WARNING TONE OR LIGHT TO ALERT THE DRIVER OF AN APPROCHING VEHICAL AT A SET DISTANCE AWAY.
4. A VEHICAL PARKING AID WITH THE METAL BODY OR PART OF THE BODY USED AS A SENSOR TO PROVIDE A ALARM.
5. A VEHICAL PARKING AID SJBSTANTTIALY DESCRIBED HERIN WITH REFERANCE TO FIGURE 1 - 3 OF DRAWING.
