Abstract

A display board 10 has rows and columns of apertures 11, preferably no aperture providing a horizontal line of sight through the board. Some or all of the apertures are threaded to receive threaded support elements 20 in the form of pegs. The apertures may also be recesses. <IMAGE>

Description

DISPLAY BOARDS This invention relates to display boards.
According to one aspect of the invention a display board has a plurality of holes extending from a face thereof, the holes being inclined to respective directions at right angles to the face at the holes.
The holes may be aperture.
Preferably no aperture provides a line of sight through the board at right angles to the board at the respective aperture.
The board may be such that no aperture provides a line of sight through the.board when viewed from a distance of two metres and a height between 1.5 and 1.9 metres, the board vertical and resting on the ground or other support.
At least some of the holes may be threaded for receipt of threaded support elements, for example pegs.
From another aspect the invention provides a display board having threaded recesses or apertures for receipt of threaded support elements, such as pegs.
The invention may be performed in various ways and one specitic embodiment with possible modifications will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a display board; Fig. 2 is a vertical section from front to rear.
The board 10 is produced from any known or suitable material (e.g. wOod) which conforms and meets the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety Executive, and in particular those requirements relating to Exhibitions.
The flat board 10 O is perforated with holes at an oblique angle to the plane of the board and thus to a respective direction at right angles to the board.
As shown in Fig. 1 the apertures 11 or perforations may be in a rectangular array of rows and columns, the number of rows and columns and their separation being as desired, but the apertures 11 need not form a regular array.
The cross-section area of the apertures 11 can vary. The apertures 11 are disposed so that as seen at right angles to the board at the respective aperture (horiontally - line 12 when the board is vertical ) the board does not provide a through aperture. Thus the top 13 of the rear end of each aperture is not higher than the bottom 14 of the front end of the aperture when the board is vertical.
The apertures may be parallel to each other and lie in planes at right angles to the front and rear surfaces 50, 51 of the board.
In a preferred form, no aperture presents a line of sight through the board from a distance of 2 metres and a height of between 1.5 metres and 1.9 metres with the board extending vertically and resting on the ground1 floor or the like support.
Thus the board may, apart perhaps from the openings into the apertures, appear unperforated, and in some circumstances, perhaps due to colouring, may present an apparent solid vertical surface when vicwed from a minimum distance of 2 metres, in a like vertical plane.
This said board 10 Fig. 1 may have compatible screwed pegs 20 Fig. 2 inserted into selected or all the apertures enabling the board to have suitable integral hook or ledge facility for the display of any required material or objects on any position of the board.
Some or all the apertures would be threaded to receive the pegs 20.
The apertures do not provide a line of sight through the board at right angles to the board at the location of the respective aperture.
In a modification some or all the apertures are inclined upwards.
In a modification some or all the apertures are replaced by recesses i.e. holes which do not extend completely through the board.
The board may act as a screen. The apertures or recesses may have other inclinations to respective directions at right angle to the face of the board at the apertures or recesses

Claims (7)

  1. cws 1. A display board having a plurality of holes extending from a face thereof, the holes being inclined to respective directions at right angles to the face at the holes.
  2. 2. A display board as claimed in Claim 1, in which the holes are apertures.
  3. 3. A display board as claimed in Claim 2, no aperture providing a line of sight through the board at right angles to the board at the respective aperture.
  4. 4. A display board as claimed in Claim 3, in which none of the apertures provides a line of sight through the board when viewed from a distance of two metres and a height of between 1.5 and 1.9 metres, the board vertical and resting on the ground or other support.
  5. 5. A display board as claimed in any preceding claim, in which at least some of the holes are threaded for receipt of threaded Support elements.
  6. 6. A display board substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as shown in the accompanying drawings.
  7. 7. A display board having threaded recesses or apertures for receipt of threaded support elements.
