Abstract

Racquets and shuttlecocks are provided with means whereby they may be seen in the dark. The lighting unit may comprise L.E.D's and a battery and may have a flasher unit all of which can be built into the bat or attached thereto. Alternative lighting arrangements may be provided by luminous means or spark generating friction means in the shuttle. The batteries may be rechargeable.

Description

(PANEL A) NIGHT SHUTTLE GANE Technical field This is a physical game and relates to game played with a bat and shuttlecock.
Background) Tennis and Badminton are well known games rarely though are they played at night, unless the court is floodlit. This is an expensive procedure and also carries many restrictions, time, availability and the like.
Essential technical features This present invention incorporates light/s into the bat and specially designed shuttle allowing it to break free of restrictions of, playing time, lighting, availability of court, place, and be played for fun almost anywhere, anytime, but in the dark.
Basically a power source provides power to a simply L.E.D. type circuit of lights able to flash on or off or not, on both the bat and shuttle.
Example A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way example with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which, Figure 1 shows in perspective the basic bat and shuttle complete with position of lights shown A.
Figure 2 shows in perspective a clip on version of game, with lights and battery adaptable to ordinary bat/s with special shuttle powered independently by battery (or other means) with flashing unit marked X.
Figure 3 shows in perspective a specially built bat and shuttle, incorporating the batteries into both A/ the bat handle and B/ the shuttle, also with flashing unit, marked X.
Figure 4 shows in perspective A/ the bat and shuttle with built in lights flasher unit, and with means to power it provided from an outside source (mains or battery) with charger plug socket on each, and B/ with special charger carry case.
Figure 5 shows A/ luminous impregnated game, with carry case "light box" to charge game with B/ a clip on luminous unit with short life components and replaceable cap on shuttle or like.
Figure 6 friction powered shuttle for use with example figure 2 or bat in figure 3 or 4 or 5 or independently with Conventional Bats.
(PANEL B) DESCRIPTION This is an illuminated game, with bat and shuttle, to be played for fun, and in the park.
Figure 1 shows the basic game, ready to play, in this case the power to drive the flasher unit is supplied by batteries (shown in Figure 3). There is a switch, grip type, on the handle and the batteries are inside both bat and shuttle which have been specially designed.
Figure 2 shows a clip on lighting unit adaptable for an existing bat, the special shuttle would be sold independently.
Figure 3 shows a possible method of design with battery positions indicated see A.
Figure 4 A/ shows another version, this one being rechargeable, and incorporating a socket into a prewired specially built bat and shuttle, with flasher unit. The charge unit shown B/ could serve also as carry case.
But game could be charged without it, the lights on each game could be coloured or not or flashing or not.
Figure 5 is of a A/ simple version without lights, but luminous instead yellow shows luminousity.
It could be made with luminously impregnated plastic, or paint, and have a carry case incorporating a battery operated light inside to charge up the game before use to maybe be recharged every 20 minutes.
And B/ a clip-on luminous liquid tube for bat and luminous cap replaceable, for the shuttle. The bat unit could of course be used with battery shuttle or other type.
Figure 6 shows rough drawing of a special shuttle this one has a special spring action friction wheel so when struck and activated coloured sparks when in motion, within the shuttle cap. This would be a similar device to that used on old toys. This shuttle could be sold independently.

Claims (6)

  1. (PANEL C)
CLAIMS 1. This game, to be played in the dark, comprises basically 2 or more bats, with corresponding shuttles, illuminated in some way.
  2. 2. A night bat and shuttle game as claimed in claim one whereas means to power the lights are by batteries/inside the bat and shuttle, independently. Powering flashing (or not) coloured (or not) lights on bat and shuttle with switch.
  3. 3. As claimed in claim one or claim two, but with a clip on lighting/battery unit adaptable to existing bats, and a specially made shuttle/s powered by battery or other means, (such as luminousity).
  4. 4. As claimed in claims one and two but the lights being charged by outside power source, or special case with charger.
  5. 5. As claimed in claim one but the means provided to light the bat and shuttle being by luminously impregnated plastic or by clip on luminous unit, or with "light" box to "charge" game before use.
  6. 6. As claimed in claim one or two but the shuttle would have friction device in the cap enabling it to discharge spark coloured or not, in flight, to be made independently.
