Abstract

Insoluble or substantially insoluble colouring matters having affinity for acetyl silks are dispersed in water by means of sulphonated naphthalene-formaldehyde condensation products. According to examples, dispersions are prepared of the monoazo dye from diazotized p-nitraniline and diphenylamine, and of 1 : 4 - diaminoanthraquinone. Specifications 4648/11, 7137/13, and 28741/13, [all in Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], and 211,720, [Class 82 (ii), Washing granular &c.], are referred to.ALSO:Insoluble or substantially insoluble colouring matters having affinity for acetyl silk are dispersed in water by means of sulphonated naphthalene-formaldehyde condensation products. The mixtures of dye and dispersing-agent may be made up in paste form or dried and ground to powder; they may be mixed with direct cotton dyes and used for dyeing mixed goods of acetyl silk and cotton. According to examples, the monoazo dye from diazotized p-nitraniline and diphenylamine, and 1 : 4-diaminoanthraquinone, are employed. Specifications 4648/11, 7137/13, 28741/13; and 211,720, [Class 1 (i), Chemical processes &c.], are referred to.ALSO:Insoluble or substantially insoluble colouring matters having affinity for acetyl silk are dispersed in water by means of sulphonated naphthalene-formaldehyde condensation products. The mixtures of dye and dispersing-agent may be made up in paste form or dried and ground to powder; they may be mixed with direct cotton dyes and used for dyeing mixed goods of acetyl silk and cotton. The dye-bath may be slightly acid, neutral, or slightly alkaline. According to examples, acetyl silk is dyed yellowish-red with a dispersion of the monoazo dye from diazotized p-nitraniline and diphenylamine, or violet-red with a dispersion of 1 : 4 - diaminoanthraquinone. Specifications 4648/11, 7137/13, and 28741/13, [all in Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], and 211,720 are referred to.
