Abstract

223,701. Dowson, C. Sept. 3, 1923. Kinematograph apparatus. -The blades of a shutter are made of an open mesh material such as wire gauze to which is applied in liquid or plastic form a varnish-like light filtering and diffusing substance. The light filtering material may be of spectrum green colour and may absorb a large percentage of ultra-violet light &c. It may consist of acetate of copper dissolved in white hard spirit varnish with or without the addition of a small quantity of turpentine. The shutter may have two or three blades, and may be secured to its shaft g by means of a separate sleeve e held by a set-screw f and surrounded by a clamping sleeve d secured to the shutter.
