Description

"Packaging made of cardboard, corrugated cardboard or other material in sheet form suitably cut and grooved, with incorporated ribbon" The present invention relates in a general way to packagings made from cardboard, corrugated cardboard or other material in sheet form suitably cut and grooved.
In general, such packagings have in themselves no other function than to provide containment for the product which is placed in them.
In order to confer on them a more attractive appearance, particularly when it is a question of a gift to be presented, it is normal to wrap them in special paper and/or to decorate them with ribbons.
In a general way, the present invention has as its objective an arrangement which, if he so desires, enables the user, i.e. the purchaser of the product concerned, to transform the packaging of this product into a gift wrapping quickly by himself, if only symbolically.
More precisely, it has firstly as its objective a packaging made of cardboard, corrugated cardboard or other material in sheet form suitably cut and grooved, characterized in a general way in that there is combined with it, in advance, ready for use, at the disposal of the user, a ribbon suitable for decorating it; it also has as its objective a blank suitable, all in one piece, for the constitution of such a packaging.
In practice, the ribbon associated in this way with the packaging according to the invention is placed inside it, either so that it is accessible after the lid of this packaging is opened or so that it is accessible after breaking through an easily broken protective cover provided locally for this purpose at any point of the latter.
Whatever the case may be, the ribbon associated with the packaging according to the invention, which is for example a ribbon of the type suitable for the formation by itself of a set of loops, is not normally visible.
It is therefore not liable to interfere with any shelf arrangement of the product concerned.
However, once exposed, it enables the user, if he so desires, to embellish the packaging of this product by decorating the said packaging with ribbons to suit his convenience.
The characteristics and advantages of the invention will also emerge from the description which follows, given as an example, in which reference is made to the appended diagrammatic drawings in which: figure 1 is a perspective view of the packaging according to the invention, shown in closed form; figure 2 is a perspective view similar to that of figure 1, after the packaging has been opened; figure 3 is a perspective view similar to that of figure 1, after the packaging according to the invention has been closed once more and decorated by the ribbon which is associated with it; figure 4 is, with a local removal of material, a plan view of a blank suitable for the constitution of a packaging according to the invention; figure 5 is a partial perspective view repeating a part of that in figure 1 and referring to a variant in implementation;; figure 6 is a partial plan view repeating part of that in figure 4 and referring to another variant of the embodiment.
These figures illustrate, as examples, the application of the invention to a prismatic packaging 10 of the type of those which are capable of being used, for example and as is represented, for the individual containment of any type of bottle 31.
In practice, it is a question of an upright packaging with a square transverse cross-section.
In a way known per se, this packaging 10 comprises four side panels 11, a base panel 12, and a top panel 13 forming a lid.
Since such a packaging 10 is known in itself, and is not per se an object of the present invention, it will not be described in every detail here.
It will be sufficient to indicate that, in the embodiment represented, it results from the assembly into a container of a blank 10' which, as represented in figure 4, comprises the four side panels 11, duly aligned and separated from each other by transverse folding lines 14, and which, as is also represented after the removal of material, is made of corrugated cardboard suitably cut and grooved.
However, it is obvious that this blank 10' could just as easily be made of solid fibre board or any other material in sheet form.
In the form of embodiment represented, one of the end side panels 11 is extended, beyond a transverse folding line 14, by a binding strip 15 suitable, by gluing, for enabling the blank 10 to be, in a way known per se, closed on itself in the form of a tubular sleeve which can be delivered flat.
On the side of the alignment formed by the side panels corresponding to their lower end, the said side panels 11 are each respectively extended laterally beyond folding lines 16 perpendicular to the transverse folding lines 14 by flaps 18 suitable for the constitution of the base panel 12.
In the form of embodiment, these flaps 18 correspond to the formation of a base typical of those known as automatic bases.
However, such an arrangement is, of course, not essential, and any other type of base may be suitable.
On the opposite side, i.e. on the side corresponding to the upper end of the side panels 11, one of these side panels 11 is extended laterally, beyond a root folding line 20 perpendicular to the transverse folding lines 14, by the top panel 13 forming a lid.
In the form of embodiment represented, this involves one of the end side panels 11, and, more precisely, that extended by the binding strip 15.
However, it could just as easily involve another of the side panels 11.
In the form of embodiment represented, the top panel 13 forming the lid is itself extended, beyond a folding line 21 parallel to its root folding line 20, by a tongue 22 provided, at the ends of this folding line 21 and in line with it, with notches 23 arranged back to back.
Jointly, those of the other side panels 11 which are intended to flank the side panel 11 extended by the top panel 13 forming the lid are themselves each respectively extended, beyond root folding lines 20 perpendicular to the transverse folding lines 14, by flaps 25, of smaller height, each respectively having, opposite each other, cut-outs 26 suitable, in a way known per se, for the hook-like engagement of the tongue 22 of the top panel 13 forming the lid.
According to the invention, the packaging 10 constituted in this way is associated, in advance, ready for use, at the disposal of the user, i.e. at the disposal of the purchaser of the product, in this case the bottle 31 for the containment of which it is used, with a ribbon 28 suitable for decorating it.
In practice, this ribbon 28 is placed inside the inner volume of the packaging 10.
In the form of embodiment more particularly represented in figures 1 to 4, it is accessible after opening the top panel 13 forming the lid.
More precisely, in this form of embodiment, the ribbon 28 is secured locally, in such a way that it can be removed from this top panel 13 forming the lid, to the inner surface of the latter.
For example, a single spot of glue is sufficient to secure it.
In a variant, and such as that shown in diagrammatic form in figure 4, the ribbon 28 is secured to an easily broken protective cover 29 provided for it in the top panel 13 forming the lid.
Whatever the case may be, this ribbon 28 is preferably of the type capable of forming a set of loops 30 on its own, such as for example the ribbons sold under the trade name "Sasheen Magic".
Since such a ribbon is well known in itself and does not per se form part of the object of the present invention, it will not be described in detail here.
According to the invention, this ribbon 28, duly cut into sections as appropriate, is placed flat on the blank 10' and duly secured to the latter, according to the arrangements described hereinbefore, on the actual production line of this blank 10'.
To its advantage, it does not in any way interfere with the closure on itself of this blank 10' into a tubular sleeve.
To its advantage, neither does it in any way interfere with the assembly of this blank 10' into a container, nor with the insertion into the corresponding packaging 10 of the product, in this case a bottle 31, for the containment of which the packaging is used.
In order to have access to the ribbon 28, it is sufficient for the user to proceed to open the top panel 13 forming the lid, figure 2.
It is then sufficient for the said user to detach the ribbon 28 from this top panel 13 forming the lid, and then, after having set it into shape and after having reclosed the top panel 13 forming the lid, to arrange it in an appropriate manner on the packaging 10, thus closed once again, by tying it around the packaging in a standard way, figure 3.
The ribbon 28 thus associated, according to the invention, with the packaging 10, then transforms it to its advantage into a gift package.
When, as indicated previously, the ribbon 28 is secured to an easily broken protective cover 29 in the top panel 13 forming the lid, it is possible to gain access to it without proceeding to open the said lid.
As indicated diagrammatically by an arrow F in figure 5, it is sufficient, in fact, to exert a simple pressure on this easily broken protective cover 29, in order to gain access to the ribbon and to be able in this way to extract it from the packaging 10.
It is the same when, according to the variant of the embodiment represented in figure 6, this easily broken protective cover 29 is provided on any one of the other panels of the packaging 10, over its inner surface, for example on any one of its side panels 11.
More generally, this easily broken protective cover 29 may be provided in any one of the panels 11, 12, 13 which comprise this packaging 10.
It may thus be provided on any one of the panels 11, 13 or any one of the flaps 18 incorporated in the corresponding blank 10'.
In every case, once it is detached from the panel which it affects, the easily broken protective cover 29 may or may not be removed, the ribbon being only locally secured to it by one or more points of attachment, for example, by one or more spots of glue.
Of course, the present invention is not limited to the forms of embodiment and/or types of implementation described and represented, but embraces any variant of the execution.
In particular, in what has been described above, with or without the use of the easily broken protective cover, although the ribbon provided in accordance with the invention is locally secured so that it can be detached from the inner surface of the packaging concerned, it is not necessarily so.
For example, this ribbon could just as easily be placed freely in this packaging, by using, for example, or not using, a compartment specifically provided in the packaging for this purpose.
In addition, when the ribbon provided in accordance with the invention has to be taken out as a whole from the packaging with which it is associated, by means for example of an easily broken protective cover provided in it for this purpose, it may be arranged in such a way that there persists between it and the said packaging at least one anchoring point, embodied for example by a spot of glue, at the level for example of the tongue extending the top panel forming the lid of this packaging, in such a way that it remains fixed to the latter.
