Abstract
223,485. Fornaca, G. March 5, 1924. Centrifugal switches.-In a governor for internal combustion engines of the kind comprising an insulated ring connected to the ignition circuit and a rotating mass which at a predetermined speed approaches the ring to cut out the ignition, the mass moves radially outward and its outer surface conforms to the inner surface of the ring. The shaft 1 carries a bracket 2 on which is slidably mounted a rod 3 carrying at one end a mass 4 and at the other a stop 5, a spring 6 between the stop and the bracket controlling the movement of the mass towards the ring. The governor may be used with high or low tension ignition circuits; in the former case discharge points 4<a> are formed on the mass.
