Description

SPECIFICATION A CLEANING EQUIPMENT PROVIDED WITH A ROLL OF ADHESIVE TAPE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION: 1. FIELD OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to a cleaning equipment provided with a roll of adhesive tape to eliminate fallen hairs from pets or other dusts which stick to carpets, clothings, or the like and, more particularly, to a cleaning equipment provided with a roll of adhesive tape which provides a ratchet wheel in a taken-up roller so as to prevent adverse rotation of the take-up roller.
2. DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART Conventionally, dogs, cats or the like pets are bred in rooms and their fallen hairs, as well as other dusts, scattered here and there in rooms stick to carpets, clothings or places which are apt to generate static electricity.
It is well known that to eliminate them by means of an ordinary cleaner is very difficult because such fallen hairs and dusts stick to carpets and clothings firmly due to their static electricity.
In order to eliminate such fallen hairs and dusts, a cleaning equipment provided with a roll of adhesive tape from which each sheet of adhesive tape is separated one by one after being used, or other types of rollers, have so far been used.
However, these conventional cleaning equipments are apt to easily loose adhesiveness when such fallen hairs or dusts are accumulated onto the surface of the roller and they soon become unuseable. It is of course possible to wash out such sticked fallen hairs and dusts from the roller but it takes a lot of time to clean out the roller for reuse. Repeated washing of the roller soon exhausts adhesiveness and make the roller unuseable.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been developed under the above-mentioned circumstances and its object is to offer a cleaning equipment provided with a roll of adhesive tape available in town's market so as to offer a take-up roller around which an adhesive surface of said adhesive tape will appear and remain until said adhesiveness is exhausted in the way of repeated operation to eliminate fallen hairs of pets and other dusts sticked to carpets and clothings.
To attain the above object, a cleaning equipment comprising a handle which extends from one end of a main frame of the cleaning equipment, a let off reel supported on a reel shaft provided around the center of the main frame, a roll of adhesive tape provided on the let off reel, a take-up roller supported on a roller shaft at the opposite end of the handle of the main frame so as to take up the adhesive tape to be let off from the let off reel. The surface of said adhesive tape be wound around the take-up roller so that said adhesive surface to occupy open end. The adhesive surface of the tape absorb the fallen hairs and dusts, and the let off reel is provided with a knob to operate said let off real to rewind the tape toward itself.Further, the present invention is to offer a cleaning equipment provided with a roll of adhesive tape characterized in that when the tape is taken up around the surface of the take-up roller, said take-up roller being provided with a means to prevent adverse rotation of the roller so as to prevent a superfluous letting off motion of the tape from the let off reel.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The present invention is illustrated in the drawings in which: Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a cleaning equipment provided with a roll of adhesive tape; Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the cleaning equipment provided with a roll of adhesive tape; Fig. 3 is an illustration of the effect of a ratchet to prevent adverse rotation of a take-up roller; and Fig. 4 is also an illustration of the effect of the ratchet to prevent adverse rotation of the take-up roller.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS An embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a cleaning equipment provided with a roll of adhesive tape according to the invention. Fig.2 is a cross-sectional view thereof.
A cleaning equipment provided with a roll of adhesive tape A comprises a main frame 1 of the cleaning equipment, a handle 2 provided at one end of the main frame 1, a let off reel 4 supported on a reel shaft 1a (Fig.2) provided approximately at the center of the main frame 1, an adhesive tape 5 to be provided on and between the let off reel 4 and a take-up roller 3 which is supported on a roller shaft 1b (Fig.2) provided at the other end opposite to the handle of the main frame 1. The take-up roller 3 has a ratchet wheel B to prevent said roller being adversely rotated.
The handle 2 of the main frame 1 is connected to said main frame 1 by means of a screw. The handle 2 also has a hole 2a by means of which hangs the cleaning equipment on the wall. It is also possible to provide the main frame or the handle, or inbetween them, with some extendable connecting means (the means are not seen in the figure).
The main frame 1 has the reel shaft 1a nearly at its central part and the roller shaft 1b at its top end.
Both of the reel shaft 1a and the roller shaft 1b extend perpendicularly from the main frame. Also both shafts have screwed parts at their top ends respectively. The let off reel 4 is provided on the roller shaft ib.
The let off reel 4 comprises a reel part 4a to provide the adhesive tape 5 and an engagement part 4b to engage the reel part 4a.
The reel part 4a has an opening part at one end and has a flange part 4e which is larger in diameter than the reel part 4a at the other end. At the center of the flange 4e there provided a cylindrical shaft supporting part 4c which has a larger diameter than that of the reel shaft la and extends inwardly. The length of said shaft supporting part 4c is formed so as not to reach to a top screwed part of the reel shaft 1a when it is inserted on the reel shaft la. Further, around the outer surface of the let off reel 4 there provided a plural number of semi circular typed protrusion parts 4d.
The engagement part 4b is made of a disc type and it extends a screwed part 4f inwardly at its central portion to connect it with a top screwed part of the reel shaft la.
accordingly, the reel part 4a is supported on the reel shaft la and the engagement part 4b is fixedly supported by the top screwed part of said reel shaft la by means of a screw, thus the reel part 4a never slipped off from the reel shaft 1a and yet it rotates freely around the reel shaft la.
The take-up roller 3 comprises a take-up part 3a which has an engagement notch 3b (Fig.3) at inner surface of the said take-up part 3a and an engagement part 3c which has a ratchet 3d at peripheral surface of the engagement part 3c.
The take-up part 3a has an opening portion at one end and around the peripheral surface of said opening portion there provided a plural number of engagement notch 3b.
At the other end of the take-up roller 3 there provided a guide 3c which has a little larger diameter than that of the take-up roller 3. At the center of the guide 3e there provided a cylindrical shaft supporting part 3f which has a larger diameter than that of the roller shaft 1b and extends inwardly. The length of said shaft supporting part 3f is formed so as not to reach to a top screwed part of the roller shaft 1b when it is inserted on the roller shaft ib.
The engagement part 3c having the ratchet 3d of the ratchet wheel B is made of disc type and it extends a screwed part 3g inwardly at its center to connect it with a top screwed part of the roller shaft 1b. The ratchet 3d has a notched groove inwardly and yet it always forces outwardly.
Fig.3 and Fig.4 show a composition of the take-up roller 3, the engagement part 3c and the roller shaft 1b.
Accordingly, when the engagement notch 3b of the takeup part 3a and the ratchet 3d of the engagement part 3c meet together, the ratchet 3d engage with the engagement notch 3b because the ratchet 3d always forces outwardly.
Thus the take-up part 3a cannot rotate further in the direction of arrow a.
As shown in Fig.4, when the take-up part 3a rotates in the direction of arrow b which indicates a taking up direction of the adhesive tape, the ratchet 3d is forced inwardly by the inner surface of the take-up part 3a and the roller part 3a rotates to a next engagement position of the engagement notch 3b.
A tape cutter of L figure is provided at the top end of the main frame 1 and a blade 6a is located above the take-up roller 3 as shown in Fig.1, 3 and 4.
Next, a practical operation of the cleaning equipment provided with a roll of adhesive tape according to the present invention is explained (Fig.1).
At first, the adhesive tape 5 available in town's market is provided onto the let off reel 4. Next, tip end of the adhesive tape 5 is pulled out and said tip end is wound around the outer surface of the take-up roller 3. The adhesive surface of the tape must face to open side.
To attain this position of the tape, the tip end of the pulled out adhesive tape is once fold inwardly to stick the tip end of said adhesive tape 5 to the outer surface of the take-up roller 3 and wind the tape until said tip end is again piled with new coming tape. As adhesive surface of the tape around the take-up roller 3 continuously stick to the outer surface of the coming tape pulled out from the let off reel, the wound tape is firmly fixed onto the take-up roller 3.
At this stage the adhesive tape is provided between the let off reel 4 and the take-up roller 3. A user of the cleaning equipment pulls the main frame toward him by hand. The tape never rotates in the direction adverse to the taking up direction (arrow a in Fig.3).
The fallen hairs and dusts are sticked to the adhesive surface of the tape.
When adhesive surface becomes contaminated and cannot stick further, the take-up roller is rotated in the direction of arrow b until the ratchet 3d engages to a next coming engagement notch 3b and a new adhesive part of the adhesive tape 5 is pulled out from the let off reel 4.
By this operation new adhesive surface is appeared and it sticks the fallen hairs and dusts continuously.
When user pulls the main frame toward himself by hand no superfluous tape is pulled out because the take-up roller 3 does not rotate adversely by means of ratchet wheel B.
When the take-up roller 3 has wound a proper amounts of adhesive tape, such used tape is cut off by means of a blade 6a provided above a tape cutter 6 of the take-up roller 3 and thrown away.
The remained adhesive tape 5 is again pulled out from the let off reel 4 and wound around the take-up roller 3 and operation is repeated in such a way as before-mentioned until the tape is exhausted.
The present invention is not limited to the above described embodiment but it is also possible to apply other construction. For instance, when it is preferable to push away the take-up roller and not to pull it toward the user, the directions of the ratchet and the engagement notch can be set adversely to the before-mentioned embodiment. No superfluous tape is pulled out because the take-up roller does not rotate. It is also possible to increae or to decrease number of ratchets. It is also possible to make the take-up roller porous and holds some insecticides in it to prevent breeding of the ticks from the pets. It is also possible to apply other various modifications not to go further beyond the scope of the present invention.
The present invention has the following effects or advantages; Conventional adhesive tape available in town's market is applied. Whe the cleaning eqyuipment is pulled toward the user the take-up roller rotates merely in the direction of taking up the tape and not in adverse direction. Accordingly, no superfluous tape is used, thus economical. When the cleaning equipment is pushed away out of the user the adverse construction of the rachet wheel will offer the same effects and advantages.
