Magnetic speed indicators; registering distance upon counters.-In a speed indicator of the magnetic type comprising a driven shaft 1 and carrying a drum 2, a magnet 3 and a soft iron plate 8, the ratchet 11 by which the mileage registers are driven is actuated by a pawl 15 on a lever 10 embracing an eccentric 9 mounted on the plate 8. Stops 13 limit the movement of the lever 10, and a spring clip 14 is arranged to engage the eccentric 9 and the bass 7 of the spindle 5 of the eddy-current drum 6.
