Abstract
The trolley has a main frame A, a top frame B and a brace frame C. For carrying long items, the top frame A is braced at right angles to the main frame A, and in this position (Fig.1) the trolley may be used for sailboards, canoes etc. With the frames A and B locked in line (Fig.8) the brace frame C may be used to engage a bracket D4 on a box or basket to thereby enable lifting and transport of the box or basket. Various other modifications are described in which the trolley may be converted to use as a golf trolley or a sack barrow. <IMAGE>
Description
Fold Away Sports Trolley
This invention relates to a fold away sport trolley.
This trolley is mianly designed for sailboards, canoas, and other craft, but with the aid of some accessorys can be used for all sorts of items, eg. baskets, bins, boxes, baggage, golf bags, ladders, and can be fitted to bicycles.
The fold away sports trolley comprising a main frame at the top of which hindges a top frame which can be locked at 1800 to the main frame or can be braced at a number of different angles to the main frame to take the different shaped pay loads by a brace frame, the brace frame is use as a grab frame on which the pay load can be hooked and can be used as a lock to lock the pay load on to the axle bar or similar position, the trolley also has a number of accessorys for adapting the trolley for use with different pay loads.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be descrbed by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 shows a trolley braced at right angles for sail boards and other craft and golf bag frames; figure 2 shows a combined golf and general purpose frame and is fitted to the trolley by the D options; figure 3 shows how the trolley form a steady triangle to the ground to rest the sail board on, fig 3 also shows that when the top frame is lifted it is helped by wheel assisted leverage, fig 3 also shows how to fit the handle through the boards toeing hole;
Figure 4 shows that when the top frame is lifted it will stay in place by its self while the back stap is fastened, fig 4 also shows the sailboard fin up for higher ground clearance; figure 5 shows a harness, fitted and loose and also shows the handle shown in fig 1 figure 6 shows canoe application; figure 7 shows a hood for the front of the sailboard to connect the sailboard to a bicycle; figure 8 shows the trolley working locked at 1800 useing the brace frame as a grab frame, figure 9 shows a harness for fitting boxes, bin, baskets, ect, to the trolley as shown in fig 8,14; figure 10 shows a clip on deck; figure 11 shows a clip on sack barrow frame fitted as shown in figures 8, 14; figure 12 shows a frame to fit the trolley to a bicycle; figure 17 shows a hold off bracket that is fitted as shown in figures 8, 14; figure 14 shows how to lock on boxes, bins, baskets ect useinED4 and D3 this example is a bracket which can be fitted to almost anything, engage the brace frame into D4 then lift the top frame B, while giding D7 over the axle still lifting the top frame B push the trolleys midle in untill the main frame and top frame are inline then lock the two frames together thus traping the pay load on to the trolley;
Figure 15 shows a clip on handle and leg that gives the trolley a level top frame B which inturn puts the pay load over the wheels, the leg is folded in when the trolley is in transit, this is the general purpose frame shown in fig 2 combined with a golf bag frame; figure 16 shows a swivel wheel that can be cliped onto any of the frames singlely or in pairs,eg. can replace the leg on the general purpose frame see fig 15 figure 17 shows the clip on swivel wheel fastened to the hood k2, this is used with out the trolley for launching only; figure 18 shows the clip on swivel wheel with a handle used with a golf bag frame that has braced the top and main 0 frames at over 90 making this a 3 wheel trolley; List of parts and key to the drawings,
A = main frame,
B - top frame,
C = brace frame or grab frame,
D - a means of fastening frames to gether, eg. clip, strap, catch, bolt, bracket, hoot, lockable in most cases; D1 = fits onto the top of (A) and on the golf trolley;
D2 = fits onto the top of (A) and the general purpose frame;;
D3 = fits onto the axle bar;
D4 = fits onto the brace frame;
D5 = fits onto the top frame; E = strap holes or staps;
F = wheels;
G = Golf bag frame;
H = telescopic handle or similar;
I = general purpose frame;
J = handle for the front of the sailboards; K1 = a harness for sailboards;
K2 = a hood for the front of the sailboard;
L = a harness for boxes, bins, baskets, ect;
M = a clip on deck;
N = a clip on sack barrow frame; 0 = a clamp on trolley to bicycle connector;
P = bracket for baskets, bins, boxes, ect;
Q = hold off brackets for wide pay loads;
R = clip on swivel wheel with or with out a handle;
Note the top frame is braced or locked at any number degrees to the main frame.
The trolley is prevented from sliping of the back of the sailboard by the foot loops or the harness, see fig 5.
The trolley is prevented from sliping of the back of tne canoes by tne indentation near the cover lip or the harness, see fig 5,6,.
The frames may have to be altered slightly for manufacturing purposes.
All the frames May be made to be adjustable.
The trolley may contain any number of accessorys and the accessorys may be joined together or have anynumber of fastening positions, eg. two clip on wheels that swivel and share the same handle for steering that clip on to the top frames top or, the main frames top, eg. clip on a swivel wheel that is fastened to the top of top frames midle when the golf bag is fastened as fig 1.
The golf trolley figured in fig 18 can De clip on Dag holders instead of a frame.
