Description

TITLE: YARN CUTTING DEVICE FOR A THREE-DIMENSIONAL-LACE EMBROIDERY DEVICE OF AN EMBROIDERING MACHINE The present invention relates to a yarn cutting device for a three-dimensional-lace embroidery device of an embroidering machine.
In recent years, lace has become more and more popular due to it being pleasing to the touch.
Furthermore, a lady with lace clothes presents an elegant impression. Originally, lace clothes were made by hand embroidery, stitch by stitch. Recently, automatic embroidering machines controlled by a computer program have been developed for reducing the labour input and thereby increasing the production.
Nevertheless, such an apparatus still requires a worker to carry out the three-dimensional-lace embroidery and binding of the lace cloth. With respect to this, an embroidery device for three-dimensional-lace emboridery and binding of the lace cloth has been developed that dispenses with the requirement for a worker. Such a device provides the functions of three-dimensional-lace embroidery and binding after the embroidery of the lace cloth has been finished by an embroidering machine.
However, the embroidery machine with a threedimensional-lace embroidery device is not completely automatic. After the embroidery and the binding of the lace cloth has been finished, it is still required for workers to cut a weaving thread and a coarse thread thereof and to achieve this the embroidery machine must be stopped. Accordingly, the production of the lace is interrupted and additional workers must be employed.
The present invention provides a yarn cutting device for an embroidery device for cutting the yarn after the embroidery and the binding of the lace cloth is completed.
One feature of the present invention is to provide a yarn cutting device for a three-dimensional lace embroidery device of an embroidering machine, wherein the production of the embroidery of three-dimensionallace and binding are not interrupted.
Another feature of the present invention is to provide a yarn cutting device for a three-dimensional lace embroidery device of an embroidering machine for reducing the cost and labour requirement.
A further feature of the present invention is to provide a yarn cutting device for a three-dimensionallace embroidery device of an embroidering machine for completly automating the production of the lace.
These and additional objects, if not set forth specifically herein, will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art from the detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

Referring to Fig. 4, an embroidery device 2 for three-dimensional-lace is mounted on a seat 1 on which the embroidery device 2 is mounted to an embroidering machine. As shown in Figs. 1 to 3, the seat 1 is substantially a parallelepiped with a tongue 16 projecting downwards from a lower margin of the seat 1.
Two fixing bores 12 are provided on the seat 1 for fixing the seat 1 onto a bracket 5 of the embroidering machine by bolts as shown in Figs. 4 and 6.
An annular flange 14 is formed on a side of the tongue 16, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3. A bearing 21 with an inner diameter the same as an outer diameter of the flange 14 is mounted on an outer periphery of the flange 14. A driving wheel 22 of the embroidery device 2 is rotatably mounted on the bearing 21. A stitch hole 23 is formed in the center of the driving wheel 22 for a stitch 61 and an embroidery thread 231 to pass therethrough. A thread hole 24 is provided near the stitch hole 23 for a coarse thread 241 to pass therethrough. Furthermore, a steel belt 26 having serrations 28 formed on an outer surface thereof meshes with the teeth of the driving wheel 22. Also, the teeth 27 of a rotation wheel 25 mesh with the serrated steel belt 26 at an inner surface thereof as shown in Fig. 1.
As shown in Fig. 4, a plurality of the embroidery devices 2 are mounted to the embroidering machine via a plurality of seats 1. When the seat 1 and the embroidery device 2 are mounted to the embroidering machine, the coarse thread 241 passes through the thread hole 24. Whenever the steel belt 26 is driven by a reversible motor or pneumatic device (not shown), the driving wheel 22 of the embroidery device 2 is actuated. By means of the back-and-forth movement of a crank assembly 6, the embroidery stitch 61 with an embroidery thread 231 proceeds with the embroidering function at both sides of the coarse thread 241 via the rotation of the driving wheel 22. Accordingly, the embroidery of three-dimensional-lace and automatic binding of a lace cloth are achieved.
Please refer to Figs. 1 to 3. A yarn cutting device for the an embroidery device according to the present invention comprises a fixing means 4 and a cutting assembly 3. The fixing means comprises a pin 42 and a spring 41. The cutting assembly 3 comprises a cutting means 32 and a rotation means 34. A recess 13 is formed on a rear surface of the seat 1 (see Fig. 3) and has a bottom surface 131. A bore 11 is provided in the bottom surface 131 of the recess 13 for the assembly of the cutting assembly 3. A bush 111 is formed on the bottom surface 131 around the periphery of the bore 11. A blind hole 15 is formed in the bottom surface 131 of the recess 13 for receiving the pin 42 and the spring 41.
The rotation means 34 comprises a first rocker arm 36, a hollow bar 341 and an irregular first blade portion 342. The first rocker arm 36 has a first arm with a hole 361 having an inner diameter the same as an outer diameter of the hollow bar 341. The first rocker arm 36 is fixable to a first end of the hollow bar 341 via the hole 361. The first blade portion 342 is fixable to a second end of the hollow bar 341. The hollow bar 341 of the rotation means 34 is rotatably mounted in the bore 11.
The cutting means 32 comprises a second rocker arm 38, a solid bar 321 and a second blade portion 322.
The second rocker arm 38 has a second arm with a hole 381 having an inner diameter the same as an outer diameter of the solid bar 321. The second rocker arm 38 is fixable to the solid bar 321 at a first end thereof.
The second blade portion 322 is fixable to a second end of the solid bar 321. The cutting means is rotatably mounted in the hollow bar 341. The remaining arms of the two above-mentioned rocker arms 36, 38 are mounted to a crank assembly 6 of the embroidering machine.
In assembling the cutting assembly 3 of the yarn cutting device onto the seat 1, a second end of the hollow bar 341 of the rotation means 34 passes through the bore 11 of the seat 1 with the first blade portion 342 abutting the bush 111 and the first rocker arm positioned on the other side of the seat 1 from the recess 13. Then, the solid bar 321 of the cutting means 32 passes through the hollow bar 341 of the rotation means 34 at a second end thereof. The second rocker arm 38 is fixed on the solid bar 321 at the first end thereof. The second blade portion 322 of the cutting means 32 is attached to an outer side of the rotation means 34. Finally, the second end of the solid bar 321 of the cutting means 32 is fixed onto the bracket 5 of the embroidering machine as shown in Fig. 6. As shown in Fig. 4, a plurality of the rocker arms 36 and 38 are mounted on the crank assembly 6.When the crank assembly 6 operates, all the rocker arms are rotated which in turn rotate the two blade portions 322 and 342.
Referring to Figs. 6 and 7, when the lace embroidery, the three-dimensional-lace embroidery and the binding of a lace yarn is proceeding, the yarn is placed on a rear side of the seat 1 and the embroidering position is the same as the position of the driving wheel 22. At this moment, the second blade portion 322 of the cutting means 32 and the first blade portion 342 of the rotation means 34 of the cutting assembly 3 are positioned within the recess 13 of the seat 1. When the embroidery, the three-dimensional lace embroidery and the binding are completed, the bracket 5 is actuated via a rack 53 by rotating an elongated gear 53.
Accordingly, the seat 1 is moved so that the second blade portion 322 of the cutting means 32 and the first blade portion 342 of the rotation means 34 protrude from the recess 13 of the seat 1 (as shown in Fig. 8). At the same time, the embroidering machine forces the yarn to move upwards so that the embroidery thread 231 and the coarse thread 241 in an oblique angle relative to the seat 1. Then, the crank assembly 6 links up with the two rocker arms 36 and 38 which in turn rotate the hollow bar 341 and the solid bar 321.
The second blade portion 322 of the cutting means 32 is rotated to move vertically and the first blade portion 342 of the rotation means 34 keeps rotating to hook up with the embroidery thread 231 and the coarse thread 241. Then the elongated gear 53 rotates in a reverse direction so as to force the bracket 5 and the seat 1 to move backwards. Thereby the embroidery thread 231 and the coarse thread 241 are carried to a position inside the recess 13 of the seat 1 by the rotation means 34 and is fixed between the first blade portion 342 of the rotation means 34 and the pin 42 of the fixing means 4 or alternatively between the first blade portion 342 of the rotation means 34 and the recess 13 as shown in Fig. 10.After that, the blade portion 322 of the cutting means 32 is rotated in a reverse direction to cut the embroidery thread 231 and the coarse thread 241 such that an end of the yarn is still fixed thereon. This prevents the embroidery thread 231 and the coarse thread 241 escaping from the embroidering position and inhibiting the continuation of the embroidery of the yarn.
By the provision of the cutting device of the present invention, the normal embroidery of lace yarn is able to continue without interruption when cutting the yarn after the three-dimensional-lace embroidery and the binding is finished.
While the present invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that various modifications thereof will be apparent to those skilled in the art upon reading this specification. Therefore, it is to be understood that the invention disclosed herein is intended to cover all such modifications as fall within the scope of the appended claims.
