Abstract
A tool case has a lid 12 and an internal space defined by side walls provided with grooves extending perpendicularly to the major surfaces of the tool case. Dividing members 3 each have grooves 31 spaced along the length thereof, said dividing members 3 being arranged to be located in the grooves of the side walls and to receive further dividing members. <IMAGE>
Description
TOOL CASE ACCESSORIES COMPARThIENT ASSEMBLY STRUCTURE
This invention relates to a tool case accessories compartment assembly structure.
In conventional tool cases, symmetrical receiving troughs are respectively made on two large opposite side walls of each tool case according to the shapes of a variety of tools so as to collect the respective tools therein for easy carriage and to prevent the tools from getting lost. However, while using tools, some accessories may be required, for example, all kinds of screws, nuts and washers etc. In conventional tool cases, there are no compartments designed for receiving specific accessories. In recent years, there is another kind of tool case designed to provide accessories receiving troughs for collection of accessories. However, the accessories receiving troughs are of fixed type and not variable. It is really not practical to let the fixed receiving troughs be provided for collecting a variety of accessories.
Because fixed type receiving troughs may be suitable for fixation of some parts and accessories but may not be suitable for others.
The main object of the present invention is to provide a tocl case accessories compartment assembly structure which may be predeterninedly varied in size.
According to this invention there is provided a tool case accessories compartment assembly structure comprising a tool case having a lid, the internal space of the tool case being defined by side walls of the case in which the inner surfaces of the side wall are provided with grooves extending perpendicularly to the major surfaces of the tool case, and a plurality of dividing members each having grooves along the length thereof which extend parallel to the grooves in the side walls, said dividing members being arranged to be located in the grooves of the side walls and to locate within grooves of adjacent dividing members.
The invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective structural view of a tool case embodying the present invention,
Figure 2 illustrates an outer appearance of a tool case constructed according to the present invention,
Figure 3 is a schematic drawing illustrating one example of an accessories compartment assembly, and
Figure 4 is a schematic drawing illustrating another example of an accessories conpartment assembly.
Figure 1 shows a perspective structural view of a tool case according to the present invention. A tool case 1 comprises two pivotally connected large opposite casings, that is, an upper and lower casing 12 and 11 to define a receiving space 13. A plurality of stop lugs 14 are made on the periphery of the lower casing 11 to horizontally protrude inward so as to surround the receiving space 13 at the top and to define a horizontal sliding way 15 therebelow for setting therein of a cover board 2 from an opening 151 in a side of the casing to cover the receiving space 13. The upper casing 12 comprises a protruding side edge 121 properly arranged to match with the opening 151 of the lower casing 11.When both upper and lower casings 11 and 12 are closed up, the protruding side edge 121 of the upper casing 12 fills the opening 151 (as shown in Figure 2) so as to firmly retain the cover board 2 in the sliding way 15 to tightly close up the receiving space 13. Therefore, during transportation or upon impact force, the cover board 2 does not slide away from its covering position over the receiving space 13.
As shown in Figures 3, 4, there are a plurality of equally spaced vertical grooves 132 on the inner side wall 131 of the receiving space 13 extending perpendicularly to the major surfaces of the tool case. A plurality of dividing stake racks 3 of differing lengths, each having a plurality of vertical grooves 31 arranged at equal intervals, are provided to match and be secured into the grooved side wall 131 of the receiving space 13 so as to predeterminedly divide the receiving space 13 into a variety of differently sized accessory compartments 4 according to actual requirements to fit a variety of parts, accessories and other articles. By means of this arrangement, the size of the accessories compartments 4 are properly devised according to the articles to be collected so as to fully utilise the space.
The tool case when closed is shown in Figure 2.
Claims (6)
1. A tool case accessories compartment assembly structure comprising a.tool case having a lid, the internal space of the tool case being defined by side walls of the case in which the inner surfaces of the side wall are provided with grooves extending perpendicularly to the major surfaces of the tool case, and a plurality of dividing members each having grooves along the length thereof which extend parallel to the grooves in the side walls, said dividing members being arranged to be located in the grooves of the side walls and to locate within grooves of adjacent dividing members.
2. A structure as claimed in claim 1 wherein the grooves in the side walls and in the dividing members are equi-spaced.
3. A structure as claimed in claim 1 or 2 wherein the lid is formed to provide an accessories compartment and said lid is hingedly secured to a body portion of the case.
4. A structure as claimed in claim 3 wherein an aperture is formed in of a side wall of said body portion through which a cover member may be slid and means are provided for securing the cover member in position within the tool case.
5. A structure as claimed in claim 4 wherein said securing means is a mating member on the lid to locate within the aperture whereby the cover member is secured within the structure.
6. A tool case accessories compartment assembly structure substantially as herein described with reference to, and as illustrated in, Figures 1, 2, 3 or 4 of the accompanying drawings.
