The warning light is lit when the tail-lift of a vehicle has been let down and the lift unit is not flat with the vehicle body floor. <IMAGE>

Description

T A I L - L I F T H A Z A R D L I G H T THE VITAL FACTOR IN DESIGNING THIS TAIL-LIFT HAZARD LIGHT IS FOR THE SAFETY OF PERSONNEL.
WHEN LOADING OR UNLOADING WITH TAIL-LIFT BOARDS THERE WILL ALWAYS BE ONE PERSON WHO WILL LET THE TAIL-BOARD DOWN WITHOUT TELLING THE DRIVER.
CONSEQUENTLY, WHEN THE DRIVER AND HIS COLLEAGUE ARE UNLOADING THEY NATURALLY ASSUME THE TAIL-BOARD IS STILL UP IN LINE WITH THE TRUCK FLOOR.
THEY DO NOT LOOK BEHIND THEM TO CHECK IT IS STILL IN POSITION AND THEREFORE, THEY MAY BOTH FALL OUT OF THE TRUCK WITH THE MACHINE OR EQUIPMENT FALLING ON TOP OF THEM.
IF THIS SAFETY DEVICE IS FITTED IT WILL PREVENT NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS. IT WILL LESSEN INSURANCE CLAIMS OF DAMAGED EQUIPMENT AND INJURED PERSONNEL.

Claims (8)

1. TAIL-LIFT HAZARD LIGHT IS A NEW SAFETY DEVICE ATTACHED TO THE BACK OF A TAIL-LIFT TRUCK. WHEN THE TAIL-LIFT IS UP READY FOR UNLOADING, AND SOMEBODY OPERATES THIS UP/DOWN BUTTON ON THE CONTROLLER BOX; A LIGHT WILL ACTIVATE TO WARN HIM THAT SOMEBODY ELSE HAS LET THE TAIL-LIFT BOARD DOWN.
2. HAZARD LIGHT SWITCH IS FITTED TO THE REAR OF THE TRUCK JUST UNDER TAIL-LIFT BOARD IN CLAIM.
3. CLAIM 8 BUFFER WILL BE FITTED TO TAIL-LIFT BOARD.
4, HAZARD TAIL-LIFT LIGHT WILL BE FITTED INSIDE THE REAR OF THE TRUCK FLUSH TO THE ROOF OF CLAIM 7,RED OR YELLOW COLOUR LIGHT.
5. IN FIG. 1 NO. 10 CONTACT POINTS.
6. ON VARIOUS TAIL-LIFTS THE BUTTON SWITCH FIG. 1 NO. 1 WILL BE FITTED ON DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE TRUCK REAR BENEATH THE TAIL-BOARD.
7. DESCRIPTION OF FIG. 1 SWITCH - NO. 2 BUTTONS, NO. 3 SPRINGS, NO. 5 SPACERS, NO. 4 NUTS, NO. 6 WIRES AND NO. 10 CONTACT POINTS.
8. BUFFER FIG.3 WILL ALTER SHAPE TO DIFFERENT TYPES OF TAIL-BOARDS.
