Abstract

A wrist watch (10) comprises a watch body (11) having a watch face (12), and a bracelet (14) connected to the watch body (11) by swivel connectors (18). In use, when the wrist watch (10) is worn around a wearer's wrist, the watch body (11) can be swivelled with respect to the bracelet (14) to allow the watch face (12) to face towards or away from the wearers wrist. Thus a decorative pattern provided on a face (13) of the watch body (11) opposite to the watch face (12) can be exposed. <IMAGE>

Description

WRIST WATCH The present invention relates to a wrist watch.
According to the invention there is provided a wrist watch which comprises a watch body having a watch face, and a bracelet connected to the watch body by swivel connectors, whereby the watch body can be swivelled with respect to the bracelet, so that when in use the watch is on a wearer's wrist the watch body can be swivelled between positions in which the watch face faces away from and towards the wearer's wrist.
Preferably, the face of the watch body opposite to the watch face includes a decorative pattern.
Other preferred and/or optional features of the invention will be apparent from the following description and the accompanying claims.
The invention will now be more particularly described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a plan view of one embodiment of a wrist watch in accordance with the invention, shown in a first position; Figure 2 is a side view of the wrist watch of Figure 1; and Figure 3 is an exploded plan view of the wrist watch of Figures 1 and 2 in a second position.
Referring to Figures 1 and 2 of the drawings, a wrist watch 10 shown therein comprises a watch body 11 having a watch face 12 displaying time indicating means and an opposite face 13, and a bracelet 14. The face 13 bears a decorative pattern (not shown). The bracelet 14 is formed in two sections 15 and 16 each connected to the watch body 11 by a swivel connector 18.
Each bracelet section 15, 16 comprises a plurality of interconnected loops 21. The swivel connectors 18 each comprises a projection 22 provided on the watch body 11, and a cap 27. Each projection 22 has an annular groove 23 for receiving two ends 24 of an open loop 25 provided at an end of the bracelet section 15, 16. The loop ends 24 pass respectively through two aligned holes 26 provided in the cap 27 which is disposed on and about the corresponding projection 22. The loop ends 24 engage in the corresponding groove 23 to connect the bracelet section 15, 16 to the watch body 11, whilst the cap 27 serves to locate the loop ends 24 in the groove 23.
Thus the watch body 11 can be swivelled with respect to the bracelet 14 so that when the watch 10 is on a wearer's wrist, the watch body 11 can be swivelled between positions in which the watch face 12 or the decorative pattern on the face 13 is displayed.
A releasable hook fastener 29 is provided at a free end 30 of the bracelet section 16 for engagement with a closed loop 31 provided at a free end 32 of the bracelet section 15.
Various modifications and/or alterations will be apparent for persons skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the accompanying claims. For example, the bracelet could be in the form of a two-part strap, e.g. of leather, or could be expandible.

Claims (6)

1. A wrist watch comprising a watch body having a watch face, and a bracelet connected to the watch body by swivel connectors, whereby the watch body can be swivelled with respect to the bracelet, so that when in use the watch is on a wearer's wrist the watch body can be swivelled between positions in which the watch face faces away from and towards the wearer's wrist.
2. A wrist watch as claimed in claim 1, wherein the face of the watch body opposite to the watch face includes a decorative pattern.
3. A wrist watch as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the bracelet is formed in two sections provided with releasable fastening means whereby they can be connected together.
4. A wrist watch as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, wherein each swivel connector comprises a projection of the watch body, said projection having annular groove, an open loop on the bracelet, and a cap mounted on and about the projection, the cap having two aligned holes which receive the ends of the open loop to locate the ends of the open loop in the annular groove of the projection.
5. A wrist watch as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, wherein the bracelet comprises a chain or chains.
6. A wrist watch substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
