Abstract

A ticket (10) is made up of a ticket sheet to which is attached a redeemable coupon (17). The ticket sheet (13) has information printed on one side. The coupon (17) has information printed on one side and on the other side is laminated to a base sheet (20) which is bonded to the ticket sheet (13). The removal of the coupon (17) from the ticket sheet (13) can be achieved by separation of the coupon from the base sheet (20). A number of tickets can be connected together on a perforated strip, ticket sheet (13) being separated by way of perforations (12). <IMAGE>

Description

TICKET This invention relates to tickets, for example car parking tickets or admission tickets to football grounds, theatres, buses or trains, or the like. In particular the invention relates to tickets incorporating a redeemable coupon whereby goods or cash discounts for goods can be claimed by the purchaser of the ticket when such coupon is presented at the relevant goods retail outlet.
The invention provides a ticket comprising a ticket sheet having information relating to the purpose of the ticket provided on at least one face thereof and a redeemable coupon attached to said ticket sheet, said redeemable coupon comprising a face sheet having information relating to the purpose of said coupon on at least one face thereof and laminated at the opposed face thereof to one face of a base sheet, which base sheet is adhesively bonded at its opposed face to said ticket sheet, whereby separation of said face sheet from said base sheet can occur in preference to separation of said base sheet from said ticket sheet.
Said ticket sheet may have said ticket information provided on one face thereof and said base sheet may be adhesively bonded to the opposed face thereof. Said ticket sheet may be of paper or card material.
Said face sheet may have said coupon information on both faces thereof, and said base sheet may be of a plastics material, or of paper, or of paper coated with a plastics material.
A plurality of tickets as aforesaid may be provided in end to end disposition on an elongate strip, said strip having a row of perforations between successive ticket sheets.
The invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing which shows opposed sides of tickets in accordance with the invention.
Referring now to the drawing, there are shown two tickets 10, 11 which are part of a reel (not shown) of such tickets. Between each ticket 10, 11 is a row of perforations 12. Each ticket 10, 11 comprises a ticket sheet 13 on one face 14 of which is information 15 relating to the purpose of the ticket. In the embodiment shown the tickets 10, 11 are car parking tickets, but tickets for admission to football grounds or theatres, or for buses, trains, or for other purposes may be provided in accordance with the present invention. On the other face 16 of each ticket 10, 11 is a redeemable coupon 17.
The redeemable coupon 17 comprises a face sheet 18 having information 19 on both faces thereof relating to the purpose of the coupon 17. Alternatively, the information 19 may be provided on one face of the face sheet 18, preferably that face remote from the ticket sheet 13. The face sheet 18 may be of a plastics material or may be of paper coated with a plastics material. Laminated to the face sheet 18, for example by means of a heat laminating process, is a base sheet 20 of a plastics material. The base sheet 20, which may be substantially transparent, is adhesively bonded to the ticket sheet 13. With such an arrangement, separation of the face sheet 18 from the base sheet 20 occurs in preference to separation of the base sheet 20 from the ticket sheet 13 if the face sheet 18 is peeled from the ticket sheet as illustrated in the case of ticket 11.
By means of the invention the face sheet 18 may be removed from the ticket sheet 13 in such a way as to provide that no adhesively coated surface is exposed, This ensures that both the face sheet 18, which has thereon all of the information relating to the use of the coupon, and the ticket sheet 13, which has thereon all of the information relating to the use of the ticket, can be handled easily and conveniently.
More thanone coupon 17 may be attached to each ticket sheet 13 if desired. Alternatively or additionally further information 15 or advertising material may be provided on the face 16 of each ticket sheet 13, or the information 15 and the coupon 17 may be provided on one face 14 of each ticket sheet 13.
The base sheet 20 may be formed from paper or plastics coated paper instead of plastics.
It is of course to be understood that the invention is not intended to be restricted to the details of the above embodiment which are described by way of example only.
Thus, for example, the perforations 12 may be omitted from between each ticket if desired.

Claims (9)

1. A ticket comprising a ticket sheet having information relating to the purpose of the ticket provided on at least one face thereof and a redeemable coupon attached to said ticket sheet, said redeemable coupon comprising a face sheet having information relating to the purpose of said coupon on at least one face thereof and laminated at the opposed face thereof to one face of a base sheet, which base sheet is adhesively bonded at its opposed face to said ticket sheet, whereby separation of said face sheet from said base sheet can occur in preference to separation of said base sheet from said ticket sheet.
2. A ticket according to claim 1 wherein said ticket information is provided on one face thereof and said base sheet is adhesively bonded to the opposed face.
3. A ticket according to claims 1 or 2 wherein said ticket sheet is formed from paper.
4. A ticket according to any of claims 1 to 3 wherein said face sheet is provided with coupon information on both faces thereof.
5. A ticket according to any of claims 1 to 4 wherein said base sheet is formed from a plastics material.
6. A ticket according to any of claims 1 to 4 wherein said base sheet is formed from paper.
7. A ticket according to any of claims 1 to 4 wherein said base sheet is formed from paper coated with a plastics material.
8. A ticket substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
9. A plurality of tickets according to any of claims 1 to 8 wherein said tickets are provided in end to end disposition on an elongate strip, said strip having a row of perforations between successive ticket sheets.
