Abstract
A length adjustable blind supporting track assembly comprises a U-shaped inner connecting track 22, a pair of U-shaped outer tracks 21 and an extendable rod assembly 3 including an elongate hollow tube 32 and a pair of adjusting rods 31 slidably received in opposite ends of the hollow tube. The other ends of the adjusting rods 31 are respectively secured to a fixing device 5 and to a slat tilting device 4 attached to respective outer tracks 21. The length of the assembly can be adjusted by axially pulling outwardly or pushing inwardly the outer tracks 21 with the adjusting rod assembly 3 moving in synchronism there with. <IMAGE>
Description
BLIND SUPPORTING TRACK ASSEMBLY
The present invention relates to a length adjustable blind supporting track assembly.
Generally, blind supporting track assemblies are manufactured in a number of fixed sizes; and often the size of the window frame does not conform to that of the supporting track assembly. Therefore, the track assemblies have to be modified to the size of the window frame.
The present invention provides a length adjustable blind supporting track assembly which comprises a blind supporting track comprising a pair of U-shaped outer tracks and a U-shaped inner connecting track slidably received in the outer tracks; a pair of fixing units fixedly disposed within the two outer tracks respectively and a slat-tilting device disposed in one of the outer tracks; and an adjusting rod assembly which is extendably fixed inside the blind supporting track; the U-shaped outer tracks being provided with a pair of opposite upstanding side walls having inward downwardly bent edges with a groove defined thereby respectively, which slidably receives the inward downwardly bent edge of the inner connecting track.
Preferably, the adjusting rod assembly comprises a pair of elongate adjusting rods and a hollow elongate tubular member into the opposite ends of which one end of each adjusting rod is slidably inserted, with the other end of one adjusting rod being removably fixed to one of the fixing units and other end of the adjusting rod extending through the other fixing unit to the slat-tilting device, the said other ends being removably fixed thereto by ring elements.
In the accompanying drawings:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the exploded components of a blind supporting track assembly;
Figure 2 is a sectional view of the assembled blind supporting track assembly; and
Figure 3 is a sectional view showing the practical operation of the blind supporting track assembly.
The blind supporting track assembly shown comprises a blind supporting track 2, an adjustable adjusting rod assembly 3, a slat-tilting device 4 and a pair of fixing units 5. The blind supporting track 2 comprises two U-shaped outer tracks 21 and a
U-shaped inner connecting track 22 which is dimensioned to be slidably received in the outer tracks and detachably connected at each end thereof to one end of each of the outer-tracks 21.
Both the edges of the two opposite upstanding side walls of the U-shaped outer tracks 21 are inwardly and downwardly bent to form a pair of grooves 211 into which the two upper downward flanged edges 221 of the U-shaped inner connecting track 22 are confinedly located so that the two outer tracks are slidable outward or inward thereby with respect to the inner connecting track 22 to effect the extension or retraction of the blind supporting track 2.
The slat-tilting device 4 is fixedly disposed inside one of the outer tracks 21 with an operating rod A pivotably connected thereto for adjusting the angle of the blind slats in operation; and the fixing devices 5 are disposed one inside each outer track 21.
The adjusting rod assembly 3 comprises a pair of elongate adjusting rods 31 and an elongate hollow tubular member 32. Each open end of the tubular member 32 slidably receives one end of each of the adjusting rods 31 respectively so that the adjusting rod assembly 3 can be extended or retracted thereby.
The adjusting rod assembly 3 is extendably mounted between the fixing units 5 and the slat-tilting device 4. A number of ring elements 33 are mounted on the adjusting rods 31 with the fixing unit 5 and the slat-tilting device 4 held in place between respective pairs of the ring elements 33 so that the adjusting rod assembly 3 can be integrally secured to the blind supporting track 2 and operatively extended or retracted in synchronism with each other in operation.
In operation, the outer tracks 21 can be longitudinally pulled outward to make the track 2 comform to a window frame with part of the inner connecting track 22 exposed as shown in Figure 3.
Meanwhile, the adjusting rod assembly 3, removably secured inside the track assembly 2, is extended in synchronism with the outward pull of the track assembly 2, thus facilitating the adjustment of the whole blind supporting track assembly.
Claims (3)
