Abstract
221,148. Kenyon, J. Jan. 31, 1924. Ash-guards. - An ash-guard for domestic fire-grates is formed from a single she'et of metal cut and bent up to form a tray-like device having a bottom 1, front 3, and sides 2 which are cut away at 8 to allow the guard to fit close up to the grate. The front 3 is cut with end-pieces 4, which are bent round the sides 2 and secured by rivets, and with a projecting tongue 5 adapted to be inserted between the two lower grate bars to retain the guard in position.
