Description

22G 53 174 2211301 Flow Measuring Device The invention relates to a flow
measuring device and more particularly to a device for inductive flow measurement having a measuring tube of ceramics, glass, metal or plastics housed in a support tube made of metal.
In such devices the measuring tube is subjected to high pressure and is therefore prone to break during operation.
The aim of the invention is to avoid such breakage if possible.
Thus according to the invention there is provided a device for use in inductive flow measurement including a measuring tube of ceramics, glass, metal or plastics housed in a support tube made of metal, and rings of ceramics, glass, metal or plastics disposed between the ends of the measuring tube and the support tube and supported on the measuring tube and support tube by flexible sealing rings.
Preferably axially open annular recesses for receiving the rings are provided in the ends of the measuring tube and support tube.
According to a further preferred feature the sealing rings are located in annular shoulders which are formed in the axially inner, radially inner and radially outer edge areas of the rings.
A preferred embodiment of the invention is hereinafter described, by way of example, with reference to the 2 accompanying drawing.
The drawing shows, in axial section, a measuring tube housed in a support tube. A measuring tube (2) consisting of ceramics, glass, metal or plastics is inserted in a support tube (4) made of metal. Between the ends (6, 8)-of the measuring tube (2) and the ends (10, 12) of the support tube (4) there are rings (14, 16) of ceraifiics, glass, metal or plastics which are supported on the measuring tube (2) and support tube (4) by flexible sealing rings (18, 20, 22, 24).
In order to receive the rings (18, 20, 22, 24), axially open annular recesses (26, 28, 30, 32) are provided in the ends (6, 8) of the measuring tube (2) and the ends (10, 12) of the support tube (4).
The ceiling rings (18, 20, 22, 24) are located in axially inner annular shoulders'(34, 36, 38, 40) which are formed in the radially inner and radially outer axially inwardly directed edge portions of the rings (14, 16).
