Abstract

A filter for extracting dust from air in a mine or tunnel comprises housing parts 7 to 10 and ends 12, 13 which allow a filter of any desired air flow capacity to be built up as required. The housing parts comprise channels 15 and 14 for dirty and filtered air respectively, located side by side at the top of the filter. Channels 15 are open downwards into chambers enclosing removable filter bags, whose mouths open into spaces leading to channels 14. A scraper (2) removes dust from the floor of the filter to an outlet, from which it is drawn by a stream of air and water through an injector and then fed into a cyclone to produce wet dust which is easily transported. <IMAGE>

Description

TITLE: "Combined mining and tunnelling filter" In mining and in tunnelling, dry filters are frequently transportably carried for extraction on mining machines or partial or full-width cutting machines.
For this purpose, it is necessary for these filters 1. to be very small, 2. to remain operative even in the face of wet dust or at relatively high atmospheric humidity, and 3. offer good filter and dismantling facility under con fined pit conditions and also easily accessible servicing tstal.
In addition, it must be possible for the dust to be emptied out by wet techniques and the filter bags nust be a lightweight construction so that they can be easily pushed in and withdrawn by hand.
In order to meet these requirements, it is according to the invention proposed to choose a filter constructed in accordance with the attached drawings.
In the enclosed drawings: Fig. 1 is a plan view of the filter, Fig. 2 shows a section taken on the line C-C through the filter - designated C-C in Fig.1 Fin: 3 shows the filter bag. and Fig. 4 the wet discharge.
Also shown are: the flow of crude gas 6, the flow of clean gas 5, the individual molar parts 7-10 which can be associated with one another according to the invention and which make it possible to align the filter, e.g. of 200 to 600 or even more cu.m/min. in such a way that a) it can be transported very easily in the mining galleries and on the mining safety cages, and b) time and again, the head pieces 12 and 13 form one unit with the parts 7 to 10 and are in each case so aligned adjacent one another with the crude gas duct divisions and parts 11 that they offer a logical division between crude and pure gas duct, the shaded areas 14 representing a closed cover and the perforated areas 15 repre senting the crude gas duct so that the dust flows onto the bags underneath andis fed via the duct 16 adjacent thereto into the tunnel or gallery as clean air- shown in Fig. 1 - by 5.
The drawings also show: the scraper strip 2, the bag filter according to the invention, 1, consisting of a frame-like bag 17 which is constructed as a seal ing-tight composition, the frames being separated at top and bottom by spacers 18 - braced on one another - a grid 19 keeping the filter bag material 20 spaced open.
Reference numers 3 and 4 denote inspection doors to left and right, so that no matter in which gallery one is running, the faces can be used, i.e. the top or bottom face or the left or right-hand face.
Furthermore, it is according to the invention proposed that the dust which occurs dry should be discharged through a wet discharge arrangement which is characterized in that a nozzle jet 22 takes in the dust through the dust discharge 21 of the filter and delivers the compressed air from an injector 23 into an air/water jet 26 so that the mixture of dry dust and air/water is fed through a mixing section 24 to the discharge cyclone 25 so that here the hitherto dry dust is moistened and can be passed dust-free to a heap or to a conveyor truck or conveyor belt.

1. ) Mining or tunnelling filter, characterized in that it is provided with filter bags which are inserted into a filter and which are provided on both sides optionally with inspec tion apertures (3)and the )the said filter comprising at the top a divided crude and clean gas duct which is integrated into modular parts of the filter which are so constructed that the crude gas duct has apertures (15) while the clean gas duct 4)superposes the filter bags in completely sealing tight fashion, the clean air being carried through the duct i6)in the direction(5) the individual modular parts being capable of being so adjacently disposed according to the requirements in terms of quantity of air to be cleaned, that filter units of 200 to 1000 cu.rn/min. can be constituted in modular fashion, these modular parts being tailored to suit the mining situation, (i.e. so that they are suitable for transport in safety baskets and conveyor trucks used in mining work) the filter having at the bottom, a scraper(2) above which filter bags are provided, the special features of which are the sealing frames (17) the spacers (18)and the grid frames(19). these frames being covered with filter bag material(20)
2. Mining and tunnelling filter according to Claim 1, charac terized in that it comprises a dust discharge (21)which transfers the dust to a jet injector (22) which is provided with an air/water nozzle(26)which so sprays the dry dust with a mixture of water and air that the dust becomes sufficiently moistened in a mixing section )that it can be transferred via the discharge cyclone(25) to a conveyor belt or a conveyor truck or to the roof rock or coal heap as a damp material which does not generate dust.
3. Mining or tunnelling filter as claimed in claim substantially as described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
